ME & MY BIG MOUTH This new teaching continues in April. I am sure most of us have said, “Me and my big mouth!” at some point in life. You may be surprised but there is something good about making that statement. Just visit www.pastorjoehayes.com for more info.

”Loving God Loving People Loving Life” I felt I wanted to share this word with you; A TIMELY REMINDER FOR ALL CHRISTIANS For a long time it has been my practice to read a passage from my Ki-Swahili New Testament before I switch on the TV for the early news. On Monday 21 March 2011 my bookmark was in Luke 21. Reading down this chapter I came to the words in verse 11 “kutakuwa matetemeko makuba ya nchi pahali mbalimbali.” An exact translation of the text in Today’s English Version is “there will be terrible earthquakes everywhere.” This in itself was a reminder for me to think about the Second Coming of Christ. When I switched on the 6 am news, immediately I had an amazingly coincidental and corroborative endorsement of this reminder. The announcer was actually just stressing that the Japanese earthquake was the worst one that had ever taken place. This has had an immense effect on me and I only wish that all our young people could be made aware of the meaning of the signs of the times, as described in Matthew 24, Mark 9, Luke 21 and many other Scriptures - “The coming of the Lord is drawing near.” I have a school photograph taken with a class of boys in my Primary School in 1929/30 – just before I gained a place in the Swanwick Hall Grammar School (adjacent to Swanwick Hayes Conference Centre in Derbyshire). I can be picked out very easily because I am the only boy wearing a badge. On it was written “The coming of the Lord draweth nigh” and “Saved to serve.” This badge was worn almost universally by members of Assemblies of God. In those days it was absolutely compulsory and if anything was planned for any future date, to add the words “if the Lord tarries.” The same thought was also put in all letters, which had “D.V.” or “God willing” added. These days I think we should all keep in mind the exhortation of Jesus Himself – “Watch therefore for you know not what hour your Lord doth come” Matthew 24:42 and that of Paul – “Don’t let the world around you squeeze you into its own mould” Romans 12: 2. Whether announced or not, members of the Prayer Ministry Team will always be at the front of the Church waiting for any one who feels they need personal prayer ministry. Welcome Team Thanks for your efforts. It is fantastic see you on the door and doing such an excellent job of making people feel welcome at DCF. Don’t forget how import this role is in the building up of DCF. Also, try to remember to give first-time visitors a welcome leaflet.

Monthly DCF Calendar. It's important that you let Diane Taylor have information for rotas and events before the 25th of each month. Pastoral Care. For some time Rob & Mavis have been looking after the pastoral care of the church. This is a very time-consuming role, so we felt it would be good to increase the team and so increase the pastoral care of the church. The new pastoral care team will include Pauline, Chris & David Baker, Tim & Amy. DCF Counselling Centre Well done Bish & Karen. Another blessing to support the continuation of this vital work in our community.
