Unicore Post & DRILL System 速
introducing unicore速 The UniCore post and drill system represents the latest advancements in fiber post and drill technology. The system is centered around a translucent, radiopaque fiber post that possesses life-like dentin properties, and a patented drill capable of removing Thermafil*, gutta percha, even pre-existing fiber posts, while simultaneously creating a post chamber that is perfectly matched to the UniCore post. The posts and drills are packaged together by size in color-coded, spill-proof modules that are logical and easy to use. * Thermafil is a registered Trademark of DENTSPLY International
UniCore posts and drills are available in four sizes. Each post and drill is uniquely designed to perfectly match the corresponding pieces. All posts and drills are color-coded for easy chairside use and simplified storage.
WHY CHOOSE unicore? • Drill and post both feature the latest advancements in technology • Packaged together in color-coded, spill-proof modules • Drill and post designed to work in complete harmony • Patented 3-in-1 drill can prepare post chamber AND remove obturators and other fiber posts • Autoclavable in original, spill-proof packaging–no messy tubs, trays or other nuisances

the drill The UniCore drill represents the pinnacle of engineering and design for post drills. Comprised of durable materials and innovative, one-of-a-kind features, the UniCore drill is the the finest, most refined drill available. It can be used up to 15 times to remove Thermafil, gutta percha, or composite from canals, or it can remove up to five pre-existing fiber posts. No other drill is as aggressive and efficient in removing obturators while also preparing a post chamber that is perfectly suited to a corresponding post.
The durable construction of the UniCore drill allows for easy removal of Thermafil from the canal space, to place a post, in up to 15 procedures. The drill is also strong enough to remove up to 10 pre-existing fiber posts.
The heat-dissipating, diamond-coated collar eliminates excessive heat production caused by the friction of drill-to-tooth contact, thus preserving tooth structure.
The patented heat-generating tip softens the matrix of fiber posts, greatly simplifying their removal for retreatment. The tip also greatly enhances the removal of stubborn rigid carriers like Thermafil, as well as gliding down canals filled with traditional gutta percha or synthetic Resilon cones.
UniCore drills and posts are colorcoded according to size, making identification of matching posts and drills simple. This effectively minimizes chairside headaches caused by searching for corresponding posts or drills.
The drill features specially designed flutes that cut the sides of the canal only–never the bottom– So no zipping or stripping of the post chamber walls occurs. The flutes quickly and efficiently remove material up and out of the post chamber.
the POST The UniCore post protects the root without compromising the durability of the restoration. Unlike metal or cast posts, which offer little flexural elasticity, UniCore responds to compressive forces just like natural tooth–there is no fear of tooth structure splintering and shattering around the post. The UniCore post bends and flexes just like natural dentin without sacrificing esthetics, translucency, or utility.
SEM x250
The microporous surface of the UniCore post has a preconditioned, roughened texture that creates a “monoblock” bond between the post, cement, and natural dentin.
The radiopaque post is easily identifiable on a radiograph for clinical accuracy and diagnosis.
DENTIN CEMENT POST
SEM x1500
The translucency of the post facilitates the use of light-curing cements deep in the post space.
Comprised of millions of continuous prestressed fibers encased in a resin matrix, the UniCore post has superior flexural strength and reliability throughout the life of the restoration. SEM x1000
The UniCore post features a gently tapered design that corresponds to the natural anatomy of the root and perfectly matches the post space created by the UniCore drill.

THE PACKAGING The UniCore Post and Drill system surpasses standard systems on the market by combining a high-strength fiber post with a multi-functional drill. The unique packaging makes handling this system simple and convenient. • Fully autoclavable as packaged • Color-coding provides easy chairside identification of different sizes • Spill-proof packaging keeps the post and drills in place, even when accidentally dropped
FULLY AUTOCLAVABLE After using a UniCore drill for a post procedure, simply place it back in its spill-proof module for easy autoclave. This eliminates the hassle of sorting loose drills and posts after the autoclave process. UniCore’s exclusive spill-proof, autoclavable storage modules are yet another demonstration of Ultradent’s mission to simplify dentistry.

THE TECHNIQUE

Select post size and matching drill based on the radiograph of the root canal space. Use a round bur to remove coronal obturation material down to canal orifice. Place rubber 55 stop on UniCore drill at desired 6 5 length based on radiographs. 6
Clean and etch prepared post space. Use a bonding system that is compatible with dual-cure resin cements. Apply according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Ultradent PermaFloŽ DC is recommended for bonding.

At full 20,000 rpm, gently place UniCore drill into the obturation material. Upon reaching the desired length, keep UniCore drill at full speed 6 and6remove from canal. 6This will keep the obturation 6 material from cooling and prevent 6 7 6removal of the apical plug.
Inject a dual-cure cement into the canal. Start injecting at the bottom of the canal while progressing upwards. Keep the needle tip buried in the cement to prevent trapping air bubbles.
For illustration purposes only. Please refer to UniCore instructions for Use for complete technique.

Immediately insert UniCore post into the canal. Excess cement can be lightly spread around the superstructure of the preparation protecting it from subsequent contamination.
Cut the fiber post to length using a diamond disc. Clean post with alcohol and thoroughly dry. Note: Cut off color marker on top of the post 8 prior to bonding.

Place curing light guide directly on the top of post. Cure for 40 seconds. A focusing tip on the light guide will help concentrate energy down the post. Begin core buildup and restoration immediately.
