Egg Donation Give the gift of motherhood.
Fertility Associates asked our OHbaby! Instagram mamas what they wanted to know about egg donation – these were two of the most common questions… What is actually involved in being an egg donor?
Is there a waiting list of women wanting eggs or are there lots of donors?
Egg donors need to complete a work up process that takes approximately 3 months and includes blood tests, counselling and talking with a doctor and nurse. The woman who is donating her eggs then starts an IVF cycle and the eggs are collected during a small surgical procedure. The eggs are then put with the recipient family’s sperm to create embryos which are then ready to be transfered immediately or at a later date.
There are never enough donors! The waiting list is currently 6 – 12 months. Whether you are looking at becoming a donor or you are wondering if this could be your journey to motherhood, get in touch and we will help you every step of the way.
