At the start of the 2014 Fall Semester our studio was assigned a task to re-invent the Bee Hive. The Langstroth Hive has been around for over 200 years, so a task like this is nothing small to take on. Rather than reinventing this object we improved it with small details that anyone can do to their existing hive. In conjunction with a local beekeeper we designed a hive that was better protected against bear attacks and ventilation.
