ADAM HANNON Associate COX Architects
Level 3, 182 Victoria Square, Adelaide SA 5000 Australia.
Dear Adam, Re: Graduate Architect position, REF863 I am writing to apply for the position as Graduate Architect at COX Architects as advertised on Archinect March 10, 2014. I am a dynamic and ambitious individual with a driving passion for design. The recent completion of a Bachelor or Architectural Design from the University of Adelaide and the commencement of a Double Master in Architecture/ Landscape Architecture is a testament to this. Over the past 3 years I have developed a keen interest and particular skills in the area of digital design and fabrication. This was further sparked in 2012 where I studied in the USA at the highly regarded Texas A&M University. Upon my return to the University of Adelaide in 2013 I helped establish the Model Making Laboratory. The lab features two laser cutters, 3D scanners and 3D printing facilities. Along with the use of this technology I have developed an expansive knowledge in various software packages, such as Rhinoceros, Autodesk suite and Stratasys software. I feel the implementation of these skills at COX will compliment the firms’ drive for sophisticated and technologically advanced designs. I work particularly well in small group environments and have good verbal communication skills. This coupled with an energetic and positive attitude allows me to effectively fulfil leadership roles when required. I look forward to the ability to discuss my application with you further and am excited for the chance to work among the skilled people at COX Architects. Kind regards,
Patrick Scott
