about tokyobike is a small, independent bicycle company founded in 2002 in the quiet Tokyo suburb of Yanaka. The name was derived from the design of the bikes. In the same way the mountain bike was designed for the mountains so tokyobike was designed for Tokyo. Smaller 650mm wheels and slim, compact, steel frames make the bikes easy to handle and light to ride. More about slow than fast, tokyobike is as much about discovering your city and enjoying the ride as it is about the destination. à propos tokyobike est une petite fabrique de vélos indépendante fondée en 2002 à Yanaka, banlieue calme et charmante de Tokyo. L’inspiration du concept tokyobike est dérivé de son nom. De la même manière que le mountainbike a été conçu pour rouler en montagne, le tokyobike a été conçu pour se balader sans les quartiers deTokyo. Avec ses fines roues de 650mm, un cadre en acier mince et compact, un design pur, sobre et parfait, le tokyobike surprend par sa légèreté et son extraordinaire maniabilité. Dans l’esprit tokyobike, il est question de tranquillité et non de vitesse. Le plaisir est plus porté sur la découverte de sa ville à vélo que sur la destination finale. over ons tokyobike is een klein, onafhankelijk fiets bedrijf opgericht in 2002 in de rustige buitenwijk van Tokyo Yanaka. De naam is afgeleid van het fietsontwerp. Op dezelfde manier de mountainbike is ontworpen voor de bergen zo is de tokyobike ontworpen voor Tokyo. Kleinere 650mm wielen en slanke, compacte, stalen frames maken de fietsen makkelijk te hanteren en lichter om te rijden. Het gaat meer over traag dan snel, tokyobike is bedoeld om je stad te ontdekken. Het genieten van de rit is belangrijker dan de bestemming.
