BRAND AUDIT
KEY MESSAGES
Reviewing current brand statement and designs (if it exists), choosing the important factors to stay. Removing outdated elements and replacing with new ones.
Defining the brand’s key messages and incorporating them into the logo design. Working together with the client to make sure we have the same understanding of the brand.
SKETCHING
FLAT VERSION
FINAL PRODUCT
Working on the initial logo draft we go back to basics and provide a range of sketches for the client to see. It's often hard to visualise at this stage but allows the team to get creative and gives the client a sense of what the logo might look like in its most basic form.
Preparing the sketch selected by the client in it's final form - in colour, black and white as well as avatar versions of the logo. The flat version is very important as it is often used in branding documents, in footers and on company headed paper.
Delivering the final logo in different formats and versions: full colour, monochrome, 3D (if required)

THE BRIEF Create an identity for the Flick The Switch brand from scratch. The brand had been existence prior to this logo but only as a typeface. As FTS is a film production company the animated form of the logo is key, the branding had to be corporate yet filmy and in terms of colours the client gave us the brief of exploring with black, white and 1 other colour (we started with purple)...

THE THINKING First things first - Flick The Switch is a long brand name so we started working with the letters F, T and S. As the brand is not yet established it was essential that the full name was incorporated as a focal part of the logo, but on a long term basis the FTS icon should be well recognised on its own. The font remained close to the original typeface of the brand, quite by coincidence we realised that this worked well with the FTS identity that we had created. The thinking behind the final logo came from a stamp of approval, it started out as a circular icon and evolved, it marks the FTS seal of a approval on a film.

THE BRIEF Virtual Recordz is a music PR company and boutique record label managing a limited number of artists. This logo was adapted from scratch with a brief of something young, iconic and music related that would work well in 3D.

THE THINKING The Virtual Recordz logo was born from an earphone shape that encapsulates the letters V and R. Vibrant colours were chosen to reflect sound waves, often represented by bright colours. This logo really comes to life in 3D form.

THE BRIEF To update the existing logo, modernize it and make it more professional. Although the change wasn’t significant, it made the logo cleaner and simpler – which helps with brand recognition.

THE THINKING Internitup is an online platform connecting students in East Africa with internship opportunities. It was very important that the brand image created was young, digital but professional. We worked on a range or different colourts and fonts before ending up with the final logo. Red is an important colour for Kenya (where the brand originates) and as such resonates strongly with the youth in the region.

THE BRIEF TIS is a venture capital company and business consulting incubator. The logo should represent that it's a well established, trusted company with a lot of experience. The client advised that they wanted to retain blue from the existing logo (although we did change the shade...).

THE THINKING TIS belongs to the investment sector which means that the brand should represent safety, experience and knowledge. To convey this message we came up with a shield made out of the letters TIS.

THE BRIEF Sandbox is a video production company they work on the shooting and editing of a wide range of different content. The logo has to reflect the creativity of the brand and indicate clearly that Sandbox works in the video production sector.

THE THINKING Although quite an obvious icon we couldn't find a better way to represent video then by using a camera icon and both us and the client kept coming back to this idea. The Letter O has a play button added to add a bit of creativity and reflect the video editing element of the business. The use of vibrant colours was essential to show the eclectic range of services and also further highlight the fun, creative element of the brand.
