INTRODUCTION

This portfolio presents some of the projects I’ve been involved during the two years of my Foundation Degree in Design at New College Nottingham. It covers a different variety of projects that involve 2D and 3D design as well as illustration and short animations. I’ve always had a passion for multiple artistic expressions as means to develop my ideas. I’m constantly searching for new techniques to learn and experiment with different media. I particularly enjoyed the Sky project, Comics & candlesticks and my Final Major Project, in which I created an illustrated children’s book called ‘The Boy and the Cloud’.

Nip/Tuck

Paty Bugarini

Brief: Book cover relates to cosmetic surgery as the starting point to develop a new concept. Concept: Steampunk Vanity Solution: Concept that explores the relation between contrasting elements like the human body with plastic as well as machinery with skin. The Steampunk movement suits this theme as its core is the mixture of past and future. To visualize this concept I chose a corset to represents vanity and the past along with machinery parts to represent superficiality and the future.
