This home away from home for cancer patients is a space meant to change their cancer e perience forever, a space to come for healing, hope, and support. This design is inspired by Maggie enters, which are cancer support centers across the . This small scale building is located within a isolated, serene environment surrounded by both forest and water and acts as a safe space away from the hectic hospital network. The pavilions vary in program and are connected by glass circulation cores to create open, naturally lit, home like spaces to make each patient feel comfortable and welcome.

My thesis was a continuation into how to take the physical psychological, and social aspects of a cancer center and disperse them as a landscape, a series of gardens that would serve a similar purpose, and become an outdoor Maggie center. A lucious green landscape adjacent to the UVA hospital became an oasis with a series of programs that offer patients what they lack most when undergoing any type of treatment, choice. The landscape is molded around a meandering path around the pond, offering patients an option of pace; to take a short walk to enjoy the view, or the option to veer off and have moments of pause. The Maggie programmatic elements around the pond representdifferent forms of gathering which are meant to accommodate patients fortheir daily needs. The walking path and program are all defined by these different curving element by taking a typical wall and carve out of it to create walls that come up and go back into the ground. These walls appear and disappear, creating different atmospheres and environments invite and welcome patients into this community of support and to use this this secluded oasis to transform their cancer journey.

This corner building in ew ork was designed around the idea of a series of triangle modules. The series of studio spaces over ow around the central atrium space, which is meant to bright natural light in and create a vertical visual connection between the studios. The facade is directly inspired by the triangle shape, connecting all the uni ue turning edges of each oor plan and folding over to create a roof over the building.
