KUMBACK CAFE
The oldest continuing cafe in Oklahoma can also boast the same name and the same location since May 3, 1926. Perry’s historic Kumback Cafe is a charming, warm reminder of days past. Down-home, country cookinwwg aroma fills the air as you walk through the antique door into the cozy, inviting restaurant. The walls are decorated with images of Noble County and Perry’s past. Bar stools line the counter at the front, and comfortable tables surround the rest of the space. This historic landmark has become a recognizable vestige of Oklahoma history. In 1940, then owner Eddie Parker replaced the small, white stucco building that was the home of the cafe with the one that exists now. The restaurant has only ever been owned by two families. In 1973, former employee of the cafe, Tony Macias, purchased the Kumback, and he and his wife, Marilee, made it what it is today. In 1999 a marquee was added to the front of the building, and its facade was updated with marble and burgundy tile. The Kumback Cafe has been in continuous operation for nearly 100 years, only closing for a time during the pandemic. Its delicious food, warm, friendly atmosphere, and value for its history will keep it a local favorite for years to come.
