The Quintana Partners studio, founded in 2016 and led by Benito Escat and Pol Castells, has become one of the current references in interior design. Its imprint is marked by respect for what exists, fidelity to the original elements and a commitment to imaginative solutions. This creative couple signs the interior design of the recently opened Carmina restaurant, in Barcelona.
The new place to be of the city has opened in the heart of the Ribera neighborhood a rehabilitated inn in an old travel house from the 19th century. With the idea of reviving the glow of the best time of this Catalan inn, the project has been built around a glazed central courtyard, overflowing with plants and with the original paintings restored. The space breathes the atmosphere of a Cuban colonial house thanks to the use of warm and reddish colors and the rattan textures that evoke the Caribbean but give it a cosmopolitan touch. It exemplifies the fusion of avant-garde, sustainability, with historical essence and touches of irreverence characteristic of the work of Quintana Partners, which invites you to live each space projected as a great experience in the city. And as a surprise, at the top, a hidden door reveals the best speakeasy bar in the neighborhood.

To create a warm atmosphere, the interior design studio has opted for a dim light, which invites you to taste the dishes of a lifetime in a quiet environment. Because Carmina is called to become a place of pilgrimage for diners who appreciate the spoon cuisine of the Catalan tradition made with the product of proximity and time. The executive chef of the house, Josep Maria Massó, has prepared a proposal that brings the usual cuisine to today’s generations through updates as close as the Fricandó conceps, the rock fish Suquet, the mountain rice in the casserole or the Artichokes with romesco. In addition to midday and evenings, the new restaurant offers options for the whole day and a breakfast buffet for all tastes.

El Mamón is a tapas restaurant and an ideal space for events, located in the Sant Antoni neighbourhood. It has 700 square meters that seduces us with an attractive combination: quality gastronomy and entertainment. It is a space with industrial airs where we will taste impeccable Mediterranean cuisine with fusion touches. After midnight, it’s time for dancing and drinks.
El Mamón receives this curious name because it is the old El mama y la papa. Now, the owners are Joan Soler, owner of Boca Grande, and Arnau Sanz, linked to the world of gastronomy in Barcelona, who wanted to make a play on words with the old name and give it a bit of spark.
So choose a place, make yourself comfortable and get ready to enjoy the experience. His menu offers us very original tapas and dishes, the kitchen is nourished by local producers from the neighborhood, to weave a network of local collaborators. To begin with, we will go straight to the point: its bravas are essential. You will never have tried others like it! In this case, they are flaky ingots with sweet potato aioli and spicy sauce: each layer is coated separately, which leaves them very crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside.
Other options that we recommend to share are the fried calamari with lime, the burrata and tomato salad, the nachos with truffled cheddar sauce, or the boneless chicken wings. Each dish has a special touch, we especially liked the way of treating the (quality) raw material with unexpected sauces.

Belbo Dos Besos is an ode to entertainment, fun and Italian gastronomy. At the confluence of Rambla Catalunya with Gran Vía de les Corts Catalanes, this place to be is destined to become a must-see that will not leave anyone indifferent, decoration and lively atmosphere. A space with two floors: downstairs, where you can enjoy the most informal Italian food such as pizza and the terrace, and upstairs, with a more nocturnal and cabaret proposal with live shows and a lot of social life. *On show nights, minimum consumption 40€ per person.
