Planning a wedding is great fun but it’s also a lot of work, there are so many things to consider and keeping everyone happy is a delicate balancing act. At Paul Benjamin Photography I want to make at least one part of the process simple and trouble free. You concentrate on having an amazing day, let me worry about capturing how great you look while you do it.

Moments that
Matter It’s incredibly easy to get completely caught up in the planning the tangible parts of your big day, the dress, the cake and the flowers. But it’s the unplanned moments you’ll want to remember forever. I think the most important thing at a wedding is bringing people together to share special moments with each other.
Don’t let your wedding get taken over by the things you are ‘supposed to do’, make sure that there is time to laugh, hug and cry with all of the most important people in your world. Whether it’s an unexpected call from your room-mate at university or being able to play cricket on the beach with your grandfather, these are the things which are worth spending time on. The only problem with these moments is they don’t happen in a nice 5-6 hour slot in the middle of the day. That’s why all day coverage exists, you don’t have to worry if your once in a lifetime moments happen over breakfast or at the very end of the evening. I’ll be there to catch them and let you re-live them whenever you want.

Fun and whimsy are just as important as more serious moments.

Don’t be afraid to choose unique venues if they mean something special to you.
Dance The Night Away Getting people to come together is what weddings are all about and nothing bridges gaps as quickly as music and dancing. Consider some of these tips to ensure your dancefloor goes off with a bang.
• Keep it live: A live band is almost always going to get more people having a good time than a DJ. That’s not to say there aren’t some killer DJs out there but nothing beats a great band.
• Lead the way: The best way to get a packed dancefloor is to never let it die down. Once your first dance is over, don’t rush back to your seats, stay out and enjoy a few songs with your guests.
• Consider your audience: Make sure whoever is providing your music will be able to cater to all of your guests. While most of your day is all about you, think about who your guests are when picking your entertainment.
• James Brown: He’s the hardest working man in showbusiness for a reason and almost everything he has put out will be sure to keep the energy levels high.

“Dancing is one of the best ways to bring everyone, young and old together at your wedding.
THINK OF THE BOYS Weddings are the perfect excuse for the ladies to get dressed up and show the world how awesome they look, but don’t forget the guys too. Suits are always in style, but be sure to really express yourself when dressing for a wedding. There are lots of opportunities to inject some colour or personality into an outfit. Fit is everything when it comes to menswear, have your garments adjusted by a professional tailor so that the fit is spot on. Otherwise, have fun and don’t forget the only thing more important than looking good, is feeling good, so make sure that anything you choose is comfortable to wear all day.

Don’t feel like you are tied to traditional colours when choosing floral arrangements and accessories. a strong colour can add a sense of occasion to any event.
Patterned shirts can add a sense of playfulness, without completely overwhelming the classic look.
Cufflinks are another chance to show your true self while remaining classy and stylish.

In The Books Photography may have gone digital but is there still a place for photographs outside of the computer?
T
he digital revolution has been a boon to photographers and has let us push the envelope in terms of what we can deliver to clients, one thing that saddens me is that many photographs only live on computer screens. For me wedding photography is all about telling stories and nothing does that better than an album. An album allows photographs to be presented in context and with a logical story telling flow, something that even prints struggle to do.
A high quality wedding album should last a lifetime and become a family heirloom. It’s something that can be enjoyed for years to come and be shared with future generations. Custom designed and printed on archival paper, my albums offer lay flat binding and the option of premium grade leather covers. They really are the best way to preserve the memories from your big day and I’d love to discuss the options with you when you make your booking.

1) Custom designed to put the story first, albums feature full page spreads, so there’s no gap in the middle of the page. 2) Pages are thick enough to last a lifetime, but not too thick to be hard to handle. Matte archival paper looks amazing and with care, will never fade. 3) Lay-flat binding means every page looks perfect and you aren’t worrying about protecting the spine when opening pages. 4) Leather covers come in a variety of colours to suit any taste and can be embossed or foil stamped to add yet more personalisation.
