It is designed to specifically serve Military personnel and their families at all 14 Military Bases in Hampton Roads, Virginia. The editorial contains the most requested services that are provided to military families, including reference locations shown on all military base maps. It is designed to carry in an automobile glove box for handy reference of all the major military facilities with telephone listings. It also describes the services available and locations of the Hampton Roads USO Centers. Among the editorial sections include: Arts & Entertainment; Chapels; Child Care Centers; Higher Education; Commissaries & Exchanges; Family Service Centers; Financial Aid; Health Care Facilities; Housing Referral offices; Major Commands; Military Education; Military Installations; Military Legal Assistance; Military Medical Facilities; and Military Moral, Welfare & Recreation Offices. NEW MAGAZINE TO PROMOTE HAMPTON ROADS CULTURAL ARTS (NEWPORT NEWS, VA) – Hampton Roads Bravo!, a new regional cultural arts publication, has been launched by The Cultural Alliance of Hampton Roads and Darden Publishing. The premiere issue was published in January 2008. The magazine, scheduled to publish every January and July, in addition to a smaller spring festival supplement, is the result of a non-profit/profit venture to promote the arts in Hampton Roads across all venues, political boundaries and artistic disciplines. It will foster public and private arts funding, arts education, and community and individual participation, as well as encouraging membership in the Cultural Alliance, which has served as the arts and culture community’s advocacy organization for 25 years. Paul Darden, president of Darden Publishing, which has published the lifestyle guide Living in Hampton Roads and its predecessor Living on the Virginia Peninsula since 1994, is publisher. Gail Kent, who has more than 30 years of experience as a writer, editor and business communicator, is executive editor. The glossy, four-color magazine will be distributed free of charge at arts venues, businesses, select retail and municipal locations, airports, Hampton Roads area Chambers of Commerce, business and professional organizations, hotels, and to local and state dignitaries and legislators.
