Pauline Gutter Visual Artist
The Free State-based South African painter and intermedia artist, Pauline Gutter, was born in 1980. Her current studio is based on a farm in the south eastern outskirts of Bloemfontein. She obtained her B.A. Degree in Fine Arts (cum laude for painting) at the University of the Free State, Bloemfontein, South Africa and was awarded Honours Colours in Arts and Culture from the same university. She is the winner of the prestigious 2013 ABSA L`Atelier competition and was awarded the Helgaard Steyn Award for painting in 2011. In 2012 she received the Mail & Guardian 200 Young South Africans Award.
