Payal Soohinda soohinda.p@gmail.com Aurangabad , Maharashtra Hello! I’m a Fourth year Architecture student studying at MGM’s Jawaharlal Nehru Engineering College. My fascination with the field stems from its potential as a means of expanding and improving one’s life experience. My goal is to learn as much about design from the world around me and to take on greater challenges in order to make a significant contribution to the creation of spaces of higher value.

Architect’s Office

Category : Commercial and Offices

The goal of this project was to learn the foundations of architectural design by examining the link between simple activities and their spatial requirements. Analyzing the context and physical surroundings thoroughly in order to develop planning strategies and create working drawings

The structure is intended to optimize natural ventilation, limiting the impacts of pollution and noise, and providing open pockets allowing adequate daylight to reach the interior. It was designed to represent the concept of minimalistic design with an emphasis on the role of nature in improving the space’s experience.

Convention Center Category: Cultural Architecture

2

The goal of this project was to design a multi-functional public building to study complicated notions of interdependence of numerous activities, while also addressing structural solutions and conceptual explorations to represent the values and vision of the community.

12

The convention centre was created in response to the community’s desire for an efficient social space. It is made up of a main building, an office block, a hotel, and an exhibition pavilion oriented around an open-air theatre. This arrangement offered a large centre open area that could accommodate a variety of informal activities.

The courtyard’s entrance is provided by the design of an observation platform positioned alongside the roof garden, which offers a panoramic view of the whole campus. The exhibition pavilion forms a backdrop for the open-air theatre and deck, transforming the facade into a projection screen.

16

Cafe

Category : Food Service Space

3

The goal of this project was to learn about geometric figures, forms, and transformations, as well as how to build shell structures with twists and curves.

18

Fig: Section, Elevation,View

Because of its surface flexibility and ease of construction, a hypar surface was used to create the cafe’s shell roof. This double curved structure is made up of a braced grid system of short-straight steel members, with a central steel component serving as the principal load bearing system

20

The café is built on two levels to accommodate visitor activities and ease circulation. The panoramic north side front offers a wonderful view of the neighbouring garden.

Open-Air Theatre

Category : Cultural Architecture

4

The aim of this project was to examine the site contours and understand the technical details of theatres in order to design an open-air theatre for a university campus.

The trellis is a free-standing open lattice structure developed using the attractor curve concept, which is applied to scale the geometry dependent on its proximity to the curve.

Umbrella Trellis

Category:Landscape-Installations and Structure

5

The purpose of this project was to understand computational-based design processes through the use of a visual programming language for algorithmic modelling.

Residential School Category:Institutional Buildings

6

The main objective of this project was to design a residential school that would provide students with a comfortable and flexible learning and living environment by utilising the concept of serial visions, i.e., designed from the perspective of a moving person experiencing a series of revelations with delight simulated by contrast.

Streetscape

Category : Documentation, Collaborative Work

7

The goal of this study was to document and analyse Pundlik Nagar Street in Garkheda, Aurangabad, to better understand streets as an essential component of the urban city fabric. The provided stretch is a commercial street, and it is distinguished by heavy footfall, street-facing entrances, and commercial activity on the sidewalks.
