Payam Nia Mechatronics Architect of FILM Products at KLA
Payam Nia is working as a Senior Mechatronics Engineer at KLA, Milpitas, CA. His significant responsibilities include designing the mechanical and mechatronics architecture of the 6 axis wafer positioning stage on the SpectraShape product line and leading stage qualification from early design and lab testing to tool integration.
In addition, Payam M Nia is supervising the reliability project on the design and experimentation of the temperature control unit within the X-Ray source control cabinet on Axion product.
Payam Nia has demonstrated expertise in the design process and appropriately managing time, the project's scope, and project complexities. Additionally, he establishes and maintains effective working relationships with clients & cross-function personnel within the company.
Payam M Nia received his doctorate from Northeastern University in 2014. Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Electrical Engineering completed his thesis on ControlParameter-Space Classification for Delay-Independent Stability of LTI Time-Delay Systems.
Payam Nia's technical skills involve mechatronics, sensor fusion, systems calibration and linear and nonlinear optimization, Vibration control, time-delay systems control, optimal control, robust control, model predictive control.
Payam M Nia's accomplishments involve creating multifeature sensor and actuator tuning, calibration and health check applications for motion control systems within Versa modules software release for Carl Zeiss X-Ray Microscopy in 2019.
In addition, Payam Nia won 1st place in the ASML mechatronics robotics competition at ASML in 2014. He is the recipient of the Graduate Research Assistantship (GRA) Award from the Graduate School of Engineering at Northeastern University from 2010 to 2014.
