DESCRIPTION: A diplomatic-cultural complex that with its structure distinguishably represents Mexico in Poland. The building for approximately 30 employees, with a 100-seat multifunction hall, located in a prestigious neighborhood of Warsaw - diplomatic district. The facility that corresponds with the traditions, culture, architecture and local environment of both, Poland and Mexico. This thesis consists of two parts: dissertation and project. Goal of the diploma essay (The identity of architecture) was to demonstrate the ability to formulate an architectural problem, analyze it and to draw conclusions that can be used in the designing process. Goal of the diploma project was to create an architectural design preceded by written findings and followed by a technical specification of the designed facility.

DESCRIPTION: A modern structure in a historical architectural and urban tissue. A market square and town hall related to the historic forms of location, i.e. height of the gate leading to the historic church from eleventh century, division of the parcels comprising elevations of the market square or monument located in the square, while considering modern code requirements, functional

programming

and

protection

cultural environment. The building which facade reflects the opposite elevation of the square and original land parceling of the building site (red and dashed lines in the illustration below this description). Design preceded by a thorough analysis of existing state, historic heritage of the location and preservation limitations.

DESCRIPTION: A 300-seat church and fellowship hall. The development consists of two structures, one designated for worship and the other for administrative use. Between both, outdoors, a meditation garden and a small playground are located. The worship building is distinguished from the rest by contrasting cladding. The old chapel is coherent with the new facility by dressing it with an intriguing wall placed in front of the entire complex. The wall separates the sacred space from everyday life but at the same time through the gaps it is inviting and encourages peeking in.

Main idea of the project was to emphasize the nature of Investor’s business in the focal point of the office - water feature in the reception area and to use as many as possible finishing materials recycled from previous tenant set-up considering the involvement of the Investor into environment protection activities.
