FUN TIMES
As we launch into the busiest social season since the advent of the pandemic, we’re bound to see more and more parties. Be it because of the impending holidays, the desire to gather and celebrate, or the return of our seasonal residents, entertaining has never been more front of mind.
This month, we toast a new spirit that will likely figure prominently in a lot of home gatherings. Star polo player Nic Roldan has teamed up with spirits guru Matti Anttila and Diego Urrutia to introduce a gin brand that has become the darling of many mixologists. If you haven’t tried their High Goal Gin, I recommend you mix a killer G&T on a hot afternoon—or try one of the concoctions shown in “The High Life” on page 40.
Since we’re all eagerly anticipating the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, this year on October 27 through 31, we take a look at some trends in yacht design on page 20. Patrick Knowles, who specializes in custom mega yachts, super yachts, and aircraft interiors, gives us the scoop on the features, colors, and configurations everyone is talking about now. We also speak with Monique Richter, a former pro wakeboarder turned artist, about her work on boats. If you see a gorgeous hand-lettered name on the back of a boat, chances are Monique painted it. Read about her process on page 18. And don’t forget to check next month’s issue for coverage on FLIBS and some of the hottest boats on the market now.
Turning our focus to luxury cars, we invite you to discover some of our favorite convertibles. For wind in your hair and stargazing, nothing beats the beauties in “Here Comes the Sun” (page 48). From a bespoke topless Rolls to the racy new C8 Corvette convertible, there is something for every thrill—and sun—seeker.
While on the subject of cars, we round out the issue with a fashion editorial that will get you revved up for a fall wardrobe refresh. Sophisticated looks for day and night—juxtaposed with equally elegant automobiles—speak to our collective renewed interest in dressing up and living life to the fullest. See all the sartorial possibilities in “Auto Motives” on page 54.
Happy reading!

BE A LEADER. MAKE A DIFFERENCE. FOR BROWARD. BE BOLD.
Steve Hudson says, “Lasting change happens when people who care about their community choose to make a di erence.” That’s why Steve and the Hudson family joined the BE BOLD Leadership Campaign. The Hudsons have called Broward home for four generations, and philanthropy is a family tradition. After years of giving through their family foundation, the Hudsons saw the BE BOLD Leadership Campaign as an opportunity to amplify their impact and create resources for their community that last forever. So, with a gift from their family foundation, they established the endowed Hudson Family Fund at the Community Foundation of Broward, to fuel local solutions today and shape a brighter future for Broward. “The Community Foundation makes philanthropy easy and fulfilling,” Steve said. “They have opened our eyes to new ways to make a lasting impact for the community we love.”
