West Palm Beach is now referred to in financial circles as “Wall Street South.” Soon, high-speed Brightline rail service will connect through Palm Beach County from Miami to Orlando. Palm Beach County is the epicenter of a building and business boom sweeping the East Coast of the Sunshine State. Corporate headquarters have been relocated to our warmer climate and even manufacturing is on an upswing.

But, people come here for more than just a solid employment environment. Great schools, from public to private and pre-K to post-graduate, as well as continuing education, provide residents plenty of learning options at every age. Housing options that include starter homes, spacious family homes, condos, and beachfront properties present all manner of choices for various needs and desires. And employment opportunities in areas such as manufacturing, research and development, health care, and hospitality offer residents an abundance of potential for career advancement and mobility.

Need to get outdoors? Palm Beach County absolutely has you covered. Golf, tennis, sportfishing, polo, boating, watersports… all are available just minutes away, no matter where you live in the area. When you reside in Palm Beach County, you can never say there is “nothing to do.”

On the following pages, you’ll find information about where to live, shop, and dine and gain insight into local health care, education, transportation, and more. “City Spotlights” gives a detailed overview of many of the county’s cities and towns (as well as a few on the Treasure Coast).

After consulting this guide, it will become clear why so many people are choosing to make Palm Beach County and the Treasure Coast their destination of choice.

Welcome home! We’re glad you’re here.

JWF ADDRESSES WOMEN’S AND GIRLS’ ECONOMIC SECURITY

The Jewish Women’s Foundation of the Greater Palm Beaches (JWF) is a membership-based, independent nonprofit that creates long-term social change for all women and girls locally, nationally, and in Israel.

JWF is committed to improving and supporting opportunities and programs that address economic security and empowerment for women and girls through its grantmaking, educational events, Professionals Network, and leadership training for teens and young, female professionals. To empower women in the local community, JWF created the Money Mavens Financial Literacy Workshop Series, which covers topics from budgeting to estate planning facilitated by female finance and legal experts.

There are many ways to get involved, including community education events and webinars, happy hours, and other social events, with two membership options. Trustee membership is a three-year commitment and includes access to special advocacy training and participation on any of JWF’s committees, including the grants committee. GEM membership is a commitment of at least 12 consecutive monthly donations and includes access to all member events and participation on three of JWF’s committees.

What distinguishes JWF from other organizations, besides the inclusive grantmaking process, is the remarkable community of smart, down-to-earth, passionate women who use their time, ideas, skills, and philanthropic dollars to help JWF realize its mission.

If you care about improving the lives of women and girls in our community and in Israel, and want to make an impact alongside like-minded women, contact the JWF office to learn more. Women of all faiths and backgrounds are encouraged to get involved!
