PCA Chesapeake's Tour & Rally Events in 2021
By Aniano Arao
PCA Chesapeake's Tour & Rally Committee had a busy year. My fellow co-chair Randy Moss, four other driving enthusiasts and I organized 14 driving tours and one gimmick rally in 2021. We pulled them off with the invaluable assistance of other fellow club members who served as group lead drivers, lead navigators, sweepers and marshals.
This gallery is a brief look back at the 15 tour and rally events we enjoyed in 2021, each represented by one photo. I devised eight of them, while seven were designed by four tour and rally masters: Ron Farb, Hank Lucas, Jim Hemig and Steve Graham. Altogether, the events attracted 381 cars and 677 people.
(1) April 18: Catoctin Mountain Tour – 1st edition (36 cars/60 people)
(2) April 25: Catoctin Mountain Tour – 2nd edition (32 cars/52 people)

Our thanks go not only to the tour and rally masters who made the events possible, but also to our wives, who assisted us: Myrna Arao, Loretta Farb, Ellen Lucas, Shelly Hemig and Janice Graham; as well as to Ron’s son-in-law, Leo Gutierrez.
Moreover, we thank the couples who kindly agreed to help the tour masters lead the various groups of cars, in some cases, more than once: Larry and Jennifer Robinson; Eric and Kim Tipton; Frank and Susan Tedeschi; Lee and Claire Rock; Rich and Kathy Ehrlich; Steve and Marsha Buss; Mark and Dawn Miller; James and Anna Beavan; as well as Bob Bank and son Andrew.
Special thanks go to all the couples who served as sweepers, especially Frank and Susan Tedeschi, as well as Stan and Jennifer Kukula – who kindly assisted tour participants whose cars broke down.
Finally, my thanks go to Concours Co-Chair Doug Ehmann and Francesca for joining me in organizing the Sept. 5 Porsche Heritage Concours & Tour, and to Skip Conrey for kindly hosting the event at his Valhalla Farm in Marriottsville.
