A Season of Accomplishments page two

“Growing in Faith and Skill, a Season of Accomplishments” This past volleyball season was successful, both from a volleyball standpoint as well as a spiritual one. From the volleyball perspective, making it to the state semifinals and playing a close match against the nine-time defending state champs was an inspiring experience. For the entire season, we finished with a 36-5-1 record overall, with the only losses (other than our final match) being in tournaments. Our losses included two against Ladywood, one against Paw (both Class B schools) and one against Oakland Christian in a tournament final. We beat last year’s Class C defending state champ (Monroe St. Mary Catholic Central) and were undefeated in all individual matches before the semifinal. We were Conference, District and Regional Champs. On top of that, some individual awards are shown below. From a spiritual standpoint I believe we also had a successful season. From the outside looking in, we received feedback from other coaches, referees and opposing team parents about our team’s attitudes and character. It’s one thing to avoid being sore losers, but it is equally challenging to not be prideful winners. Internally, it was great to see the girls grow in confidence and character throughout the season. They had the opportunity to share Bible verses at the beginning of each practice and tell how those verses inspired their faith and applied to the game of volleyball. We as coaches were impressed by the depth of understanding they possessed in translating God’s Word to different areas of their lives. Our goals for the season were also split into volleyball and spiritual related goals. The volleyball goal was, at a minimum, to make it past the regional final this year, with the BHAG (Big Hairy Audacious Goal) to win the state final! The greater goal would have to be broken down into smaller team and individual goals that were objective and measurable in order to hit the larger goal. Before

each practice we would review the stats from the prior match to determine how we performed and what areas of our game needed work. Spiritually, our goal was to be Christian athletes. Our spiritual success is a direct parallel in many ways to our volleyball success. The larger goal of growing in Christ can be broken down into smaller goals that can be measured daily. The decisions we make throughout the day determine our growth for that day. Those days add up to a week, a month, a year, and so on. The decisions can include how we spend our time, what we read/watch, the things we say, the things we don’t say and many more. In both areas, if we take care of the details that we can control, the results will follow naturally. Another area of focus for the team was that making mistakes is not only okay, but necessary. If we are not making mistakes, we are not on the edge of our ability and not growing. It is an uncomfortable place to be. The goal, however, is not so much making mistakes for the sake of making them, but pushing past our comfort level to grow and not being afraid. Spiritually, God wants to stretch us. If we are not uncomfortable, we are not being stretched. God’s strength is made perfect in our weakness, so if we are willing to push ourselves past the point of being comfortable when following Him, He can be glorified in the results. Lastly, the season was a success undoubtedly due to the overwhelming support we received from the parents, fans and PCA. The parents stepped in and covered everything behind the scenes (line judging, scoring, entrance table, etc.). The fans are the best of any school I have ever been associated. Like the team character comments, we received a lot of feedback about how great our fans were, with some even talking about transferring to our school just for the fans. In addition, the school was supportive all

season, with the highlight of support being when tests were moved and a half day was given so fans could support the team during the state quarterfinal and semifinal matches. This was an incredible and extremely appreciated gesture. I am proud to be associated with PCA and this volleyball program. A huge thank you to everyone that played a part in making it successful. { from the superintendent } JOY IN THE JOURNEY

I’ve watched the seasons come and go and bring plenty of change. It seems like just yesterday we welcomed the fall season and hundreds of eager students to our campus. The Under the Lights Soccer Event came and went, followed by the roaring Wild About Education auction, and now we’ve praised the birth of our Savior at the annual Christmas concerts. I have found the same to be true of the “seasons” of a school. It is a never ending cycle, bringing plenty of change, but it’s a very worthy calling! Each day I catch a glimpse of the amazing work that is going on here at Plymouth Christian…inside the building, out on the field and up on the stage... and JOY floods my heart. It is my joy, this Christmas season to share what God has done in us and through us over this past year and to encourage you with the unchanging legacy of the PCA mission, “to educate students from a biblical worldview and equip them for a lifetime of learning, leadership and service.” Our mission gives us great assurance that regardless of the changing “seasons” or what’s trending today, or hash-tagging tomorrow, our school’s mission is important enough to give our time, money and hearts to for many seasons to come. In a culture where kids are JK-ing and they’ll BRB after they LOL, it’s awesome to know that the B-I-B-L-E consistently points us to the person of Jesus Christ who is unchanging and all powerful. We rejoice in your faithful gifts over this past year. They continue to contribute to the mission of Plymouth Christian and your dedicated prayer support helps us flourish far into the future. 2015 reflections would not be complete without rejoicing in the following: • Our International Program welcomed 5 new students • The 2015 Career Day welcomed 50 presenters • Introduction of a Fine & Performing Arts Booster Board • A fabulous school community at special events like Donkey Basketball, Welcome Back Picnic and more! • Introduction of X-Term for our secondary students • Safe travels to Costa Rica, Washington D.C., Crystal Mountain and Chicago • Safety on all our Field Trips • Fabulous presentation of the musical “Annie” • An inspiring SHINE 2015 week • Graduation of the Class of 2015 • Very successful Golf Outing in support of PCA Athletics • Competition at the state level by our Cross Country and Volleyball team • Safety and success for all our sports teams • Some of the best student fan support ever • Record breaking fall auction, Wild About Education We continue to be inspired by our faithful and dedicated staff. They love Jesus, they love young people and they love what they do. One of the most fulfilling aspects of my job is observing teachers Biblically integrate their lessons day after day. Witnessing Jesus-loving teachers share their love for the Lord and teach through the lens of God’s Word fills my heart with joy. As God continues to bless our school, we are poised to complete a brand new Science Lab in the summer of 2016. This renovation and modernization project enables us to support our science offerings and we are thrilled to be able to continue to educate leaders in science and technology at Plymouth Christian Academy. We have much to be thankful for at Plymouth Christian, don’t we? We live in the great state of Michigan, in a great town, and we’re part of an excellent school that loves the Lord. So when you’re sitting around the tree this Christmas, taking in the warmth of the season, enjoying the twinkling lights and the children with their wide eyes – be thankful and remember to have joy in the journey. Don’t worry about taking the gifts back or your next to-do list. Sit back, take another sip of cocoa and know that, despite all of life’s ups and down, you have been given these moments in time to be enjoyed. “Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain. – I Corinthians 15:58 Please join me as we ring in the New Year, to partner together to pray for our young people and embrace each season to the fullest and find joy in the journey.

{ regent report } Strategic Update from Regent Chair, Joyce Zandee On behalf of the PCA Regent Board I am thrilled to provide an encouraging update and share an overview of some exciting things that are going on at Plymouth Christian Academy, the school ministry of Calvary Baptist Church. We are so thankful for how God has blessed this ministry, and we are deeply grateful for the support of PCA provided by our church and school family. I consider it a privilege to serve alongside the men and women on the Regent Board plus our dedicated and incredibly hard-working superintendent, Caryn Huntsman. New members on the Regent Board this year include John Warnshuis and Bob Hott, both of whom we are happy to have on our team, especially since we have a great deal to accomplish this year as PCA heads into an accreditation review scheduled for spring of 2016. Over the past 10 years, the enrollment trend at PCA has seen a fairly steady decline of about 4.5% per year. Extrapolating this trend, we had anticipated that enrollment this fall would be around 481 students. Instead, we are delighted to report enrollment of 502 students at PCA, just slightly less than September 2014 when 504 students were enrolled. We recognize that families make a sacrifice to invest in educating their children from a Biblical worldview, so we are working to ensure strong value for that investment. We believe that this year’s encouraging enrollment represents an important change of momentum, which we feel is an outcome of an intentional focus on increasing the value proposition to PCA families. In addition to 502 students PS-12th grade, another 23 students are currently enrolled in our Homeschool Program, up from 11 students in the program last year – demonstrating that PCA is also able to provide support to some of the homeschooling families in our community. The PCA Ends Statement articulates the desired outcomes for students at PCA and monthly reports are provided by the Superintendent to assess those desired outcomes. In addition, the Regents have developed the “PCA 20|20 Vision”, which was endorsed by CBC leadership last spring. The PCA 20|20 vision statement provides the strategic framework for identifying where we plan to focus time, talents, and resources in the 2015-2020 timeframe. PCA 20|20 Vision: Plymouth Christian Academy, as the educational ministry of Calvary Baptist Church, is committed to pursuing the following strategic directions in the 2015-2020 timeframe… • Prepare Christian Servant Leaders • Develop Well-Rounded Students of Distinction • Value and Support Committed Faculty • Strengthen Foundational Education • Provide Signature Learning Opportunities • Implement Facility Improvements • Cultivate Ministry Partners I would like to provide additional details on these strategic directions and share some ongoing progress in each of these areas. 1. Prepare Christian Servant Leaders • Emphasis on: • Leadership Initiatives • Student Seminars / Mentoring programs • Bible/Chapel program • Service opportunities Eagle Vision - 6

{ regent report }

• Ongoing Progress: • Strength-Quest Skills Assessment • Elementary small groups and secondary seminar groups formed • Secondary Spiritual Life Retreat – theme “RSVP – How will you respond to God?“ •“ Audacity” movie used to help students prepare for tough conversations on homosexuality and samesex marriage In this category, I would like to highlight our elementary small groups and secondary seminars. These have been formed to provide a safe environment for students to form mentoring relationships with other students, to have tough conversations, to practice defending their faith, and to develop their servant-leadership skills. 2. Develop Well-Rounded Students of Distinction – this means that PCA is committed to providing excellent core and elective courses while also providing ample opportunities for students to be involved in athletics as well as fine & performing arts. • Emphasis on: • Fine & Performing Arts • Athletics • Student body diversity via International Program • Excellent core and elective courses • Ongoing Progress: • New Fine & Performing arts booster board • Planning underway for new Fine Arts Summer Camps • “Play Like A Champion” curriculum for athletic teams • International students from China (2), Haiti (2), and S. Korea (1) • All-school theme for 2015-2016 school year is “#ExcelatPCA” An area I would like to highlight is our International Program. This year we have enrolled five international students – two from China, two from Haiti, and one from South Korea. Not only does the international program help diversify our student body and allow PCA students to develop relationships with students from other cultures, it also serves as an alternative revenue stream that provides funding which we can use to invest in other areas of the PCA 20|20 vision. We are currently seeking host families for the International Program. If you would like to be a host family for an international student, you will receive a stipend of $700 per month. 3. Value and Support Committed Faculty – PCA teachers are the most important asset of our school; they work directly with the students and develop lasting, and impactful relationships with them. Our teachers talk about their personal faith in the classroom, share their love for Jesus, and teach our students how God impacts every aspect of the world around us. As part of the 20|20 vision, we will be recommending a strategic compensation system that will allow us to recognize and reward teachers for their important role at our school, and allow us to attract and retain additional outstanding educators who are also wonderful Christian role models for our students. • Emphasis on: • Strategic Compensation • Professional Development Opportunities • Targeted Recruiting of Faculty • Impactful Relationships with Students • Ongoing Progress:

Eagle Vision - 7

{ regent report }

• Teacher Evaluation System • Shared Time Funding – gives us an opportunity to better recognize contributions of faculty & staff • New teacher mentoring program • Professional development curriculum: Teach Like a Champion 2.0 • “Hot Topics” meetings used to gather teacher ideas and suggestions for school improvement

The Shared Time initiative is a program that has provided funding for our own PCA “specials” teachers (art, music, foreign language, gym, and AP courses) in partnership with the South Redford Public School System. This program is very exciting because it frees up funds in the PCA budget that can be invested back into our faculty and staff. The impacted teachers, Brad and especially Caryn are to be commended for working so diligently to make Shared Time a reality. We are so grateful for this wonderful blessing! 4. Strengthen Foundational Education • Emphasis on: • Academic Excellence • Science-Technology-Engineering-Math (STEM) program • Written and oral communication skills • Ongoing Progress: • Accreditation evaluation to occur Spring 2016 • Elementary hands-on science program: stimulate early interest in science • Recommendations sought from parent team re: new Science lab • Resources dedicated to K-12 academic support • Investigating new “writing across the curriculum” program • Training for elementary speech contest In this area we are so very thankful for a generous financial gift from a donor who has designated funds to renovate two classrooms into a new science lab! This renovation is key to ensuring the expansion and long-term success of our Science program. We have also expanded our elementary hands-on science program to stimulate interest in science at an earlier age. 5. Provide signature learning opportunities … to ensure that we continue to expand the opportunities and experiences that make an education at PCA unique and impactful. • Emphasis on: • Technology in the classroom • Opportunities for outreach and missions • Unique and varied X-Term (“EXPLORE”) classes • Robotics • Ongoing Progress: • Botany & Ecology students prepared plot for wildflower garden • All lower elementary now outfitted with Smart Boards • Year 2 of 1:1 BYOD technology initiative in high school • Investigating possible new X-Term offerings • Fall community outreach: Shoebox ministry • FIRST Robotics program for 9th – 12th grade students; 4th-8th grade robotics participating in Lawrence Tech Robofest

{ regent report } As to ongoing progress in this area of the 20|20 vision, I would like to highlight that we are now in Year 2 of our Bring Your Own Device technology initiative in the secondary. All elementary classrooms are now equipped with Smart Boards. We are also delighted to see a growing interest in Robotics at PCA. X-term (or Explore) offerings will allow our students to take special classes including Greek, Project Management, or Business Technical Writing – to name a few! 6. Implement Infrastructure/Facility Improvements • Emphasis on: • Security improvements • New Science Lab (Fall of 2016) • Elimination of Debt • Seeking God’s direction on use of back property • Ongoing Progress: • Bids out for new security system •F unds budgeted toward debt reduction – on debt payment schedule that will result in debt payoff in 2020 • Portion of tuition from enrollment above budget will go to debt reduction • Hosted first invitational cross-country meet on school property • Strengthen interactions with CBC boards For ongoing progress in this area, the Regent Board continues to be committed to elimination of all PCA debt, and we remain on a debt payment schedule that will result in debt payoff in 20|20. In fact, being debt free in 2020 is one of the most exciting outcomes of the 20|20 vision statement! In addition to budgeting funds for debt payoff, a portion of tuition received from students who enroll during the course of the school year will also go towards reducing the debt. 7. Cultivate Ministry Partners • Emphasis on: • Communicating our vision of God’s direction for PCA • Align ministry partners around areas they are passionate about • Ongoing Progress: • Annual PCA Auction held October 23 was a tremendous success! • Targeted gifts from ministry partners towards Fine & Performing Arts •S eeking to develop relationships with other ministry partners who believe in our mission and want to support the 20|20 vision It is important for us to seek to identify ministry partners who recognize and value the importance of training up the next generation of Christian leaders who want to impact their world for Christ. Part of the reason that we established the 20|20 vision was to help articulate our vision to potential ministry partners and identify an area of the vision about which they are particularly passionate to support. We are so grateful for your prayers and your financial support. I would ask that you continue to uphold Caryn Huntsman, the PCA Administration, our amazing faculty and staff, the Regents and CBC leadership in prayer as we seek to glorify Christ Jesus through this impactful ministry. { academics } Science Program Expands

New this year: Ecology and Botany Classes taught by Mr. Wes Sherman. Along with a full curriculum inside the classroom, students have the opportunity to work outside in their garden. They spent time this fall prepping the soil and in the spring they will be planting a large variety of wildflowers. During the Botany portion of the class, students will do experimentation with plant hormones and learn to grow plants without seeds. We are so thankful to Mr. Sherman for bringing this new opportunity to PCA’s science program. We also want to acknowledge the support of Mr. Dan Paulson for working with Mr. Sherman in preparing the garden plot.

Toothpick Bridge 2015 at Plymouth Christian Academy

The annual Plymouth Christian Academy 8th grade Toothpick Bridge project took place the last week of October. This project requires students to use critical thinking and problem solving as they work through the technological design process. Their bridges must be made of standard size wood toothpicks and any glue. The total mass of the bridge must not exceed 100 grams and must hold a load of 5,000 grams over a 30 cm span for ten seconds (5,000 grams is about 11 pounds). Every year students are very skeptical that toothpicks can hold that kind of load, yet every year students discover that the engineering or design of the bridge is what makes the difference. Every year students are amazed when their bridges are tested. Lauren Swicker was the “Engineer of the Year” as her bridge held 172 pounds. The Plymouth Christian Academy school record is still held by Allie Kwang, whose bridge held 308 pounds. Deborah Hope, PCA Middle School Science Teacher

{ academics } A Question of Origins

At Plymouth Christian Academy, the faculty educates our students from a Biblical worldview, or in other words, to see the world through the lens of the Bible. This is uniquely different than teaching from a naturalistic worldview, which is a belief system that rejects God. The difference between the Biblical worldview and a naturalistic one is most acute in the science classroom. It really is a question of origins. Yes, PCA students learn about Darwinian evolution. We want them to know the implications of this all-pervasive philosophy and know its scientific weaknesses. We point to God’s word as the true history of the universe, showing them that the world we observe in the present supports the Genesis account in the past. Why do questions of origins matter? From an evolutionary worldview children are taught that they are the products of random genetic mutations over countless millions of years, the result of which is just an improved ape. At PCA they are taught that they are the pinnacle of the creative power of an all-wise and all-powerful Designer. From an evolutionary worldview they are taught that everything is “always evolving” and that rules, social mores, and matters of right and wrong are subject to the ebb and flow of human opinion. At PCA they are taught that there is a God in heaven Who made them, loves them and has given them a handbook, His Word, to help them know Him and understand our world. Since science is such a critical component when educating about origins, it is a priority at PCA that all students, kindergarten through high school, experience a large variety of engaging, hands-on science activities. Elementary children have the opportunity to be taught hands-on science, not only in their classrooms, but also in the secondary science labs on a regular basis. Each elementary class comes to the science lab every other week to use: • microscopes to observe living cells and growing crystals • chemicals to make slime, acid base reactions, and even “elephant toothpaste” • magnifying lenses to see rocks, fish, worms and baby plants inside seeds more closely • dissecting tools to observe the inside of a frog • butterfly nets to collect specimens from our campus …and so much more. The explorations are endless and are filled with excitement, which provides numerous opportunities to learn about the world God created and how He holds it all together. We pray that our students will allow God’s Word to transform their thinking in every area. PCA teaching staff is thankful for the supportive atmosphere at PCA that encourages this in each of our disciplines. Colossians 1:16-17 …” For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. 17 And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together.” Submitted by Karen Hott, Secondary Science Teacher

National Art Honor Society Christmas Tree Each year, the city of Plymouth hosts a Christmas tree display in Kellogg Park. Called the Walk of Trees, 75 trees are on display from Thanksgiving through Christmas and are lit 24 hours a day. PCA’s National Art Honor Society adopted one of these Christmas trees. Representing both the true story of Christmas and our school, the tree is decked out in purple and gold. NAHS hand painted ornaments displaying the names of Jesus cover the tree. In addition, each student in our high school is represented by an ornament with their name and year of graduation. If you’re in Kellogg Park in downtown Plymouth this Christmas, stop by and check out the tree. Special thanks to Susan Aitken, Secondary Art Teacher and her dedication with the National Art Honor Society.

International German Olympics Congratulations to Paul Chamberlain, who earned one of only 14 places to compete in the national finals of the Internationale Deutscholympiade (the International German Olympics, sponsored by the German government and the Goethe-Institut). The finals were held December 4 and 5, at the GoetheInstitut in Chicago. Students competed to solve tasks in the style of an “Olympic pentathlon” that tests listening skills, reading skills, writing, creativity, and presentation. Though Paul was not one of the two finalists, he competed well and had a great time. We’re proud of how he represented himself and PCA. Congratulations to Paul on this great honor to make it to the national finals!

International Chapel On November 17 & 18, PCA students presented an International Chapel, both at home and at Northville Christian. Highlighting PCA students from around the world and the different nationalities within our school family, this International Chapel allowed us to see the impact of language on spreading the gospel. Dr. Sterniak, PCA Secondary Spanish Teacher, led this chapel and explored language from the time of the Tower of Babel through Pentecost and into today. Scripture was shared in Spanish, French, Chinese, Korean, Arabic and more. Students went on to sing the hymn, “Holy, Holy, Holy” in English, Spanish and German. Dr. Sterniak impressed upon all the importance of using language to share the gospel with the unsaved around the world.

{ eagle country } Amazing Season

The PCA Varsity Boys Soccer team had a record-breaking season this year, taking PCA farther than in ever before. Led by team captains, Luke Yakuber, Nick Andres and Ben Fuller, the team beat Inter-City in the District final game, securing the District Champion trophy for the first time since 2009. The team went on to defeat Greenhills, ranked #2 in the state and 1st in our conference, in a penalty shoot-out and moved us on to the Regional Finals. They played hard in the Regional Finals game against Lansing Christian and are looking forward to beating them in a rematch next season. This team was filled with talent. Nick and Austin Andres both made All- State Second Team. Ben Fuller was recognized as All-State Third Team and Luke Yakuber made All-State Honorable Mention. They will be recognized at halftime of an upcoming basketball game this winter. Six PCA seniors led this team in an amazing season. Nick Andres, Luke Yakuber, Will Crecelius, Kent Mickelson, Sam Jose and Sam Spada brought leadership and talent to the field. They will be missed next year. We do have a strong returning roster for next season, though, and the PCA Varsity Soccer team is looking forward to a great next season! Submitted by Kris Warnemuende, Varsity Soccer Head Coach

{ legacy } LEGACY DAY AT PCA PCA Grandparents Investing in their Grandchildren Proverbs 13:22a “A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children...” More than 210 PCA Grandparents and “Grandfriends” had the opportunity to join us for the Annual Grandparents Day at Plymouth Christian Academy on December 15. The theme for this special day was “LEGACY”. We shared stories of times past and prayed together, renewing our commitment to partner and invest in the lives of a future generation of leaders and servants for Christ. Grandparents in attendance enjoyed a special chapel, experiencing the worship and teaching that our young people engage in each week. Following a breakfast buffet and an informational meeting, the highlight of the day finally arrived... spending time in the classroom with the students and teachers. Grandparents of our middle and high school students enjoyed school tours and the opportunity to visit their grandchildren in their school environment and see the Christ-centered education that PCA provides. We praise the Lord for the exceptional people who make up the families of our students. Involved grandparents are a blessing in the lives of children. Supportive grandparents are also a tremendous blessing to Plymouth Christian Academy. Your investments help us produce young people who are lifelong learners, leaders and servants of our Lord. Thank you, PCA Grandparents, for your overwhelming encouragement, for being a positive role model, for your sacrificial giving and for the family support you provide. Most important of all, we are thankful for your faithful prayer support! It is our prayer, that through LEGACY DAY, you will develop a closer connection to your grandchildren’s education as you participate in various ways to support the mission of Plymouth Christian Academy. Thank you!

According to Liz, “Connections, relationships, unspoken languages… These bind us to the world around us. It’s in the small things: the little gestures, the details that combine to create the larger picture. I view artists as adventurers, investigators. We explore parts of life that intrigue us and relay our findings to the rest of the world. Some people trek that journey through music or literature, I happen to use oil paint, watercolor, or pigment ink.” Her work ranges from oil paintings with intense colors to design art both quirky and beautiful. More of Liz’s artwork can be found on her website, www.Lizaitkenart.com. Congratulations Liz on this great accomplishment!

Laura (Hagan) Allen, Class of 2009 & Jordan Allen, Class of 2010 In 2014, Jordan Allen and Laura Hagan tied the knot after having met at PCA in 2008. They graduated from Michigan State University and now live with their two cats in Lansing as a campus minister and high school teacher. During their time as students at MSU, Jordan and Laura were active leaders with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship, serving as President and Prayer Coordinator, respectively. The ministry provided them with sound Biblical knowledge, quality leadership training, and a loving Christian community after leaving PCA. This year, after completing his teaching certification for secondary History, Jordan responded to God’s call to work full-time for InterVarsity at MSU. He develops leaders and is a mentor for young students, all while seeking to share the truth of the gospel on campus. For MSU’s 50,000 students, encountering God’s love in these formative years can change one’s life forever, and Jordan is humbled and honored to be a part of God’s work. Immediately after high school, Laura served with Youth With A Mission in New Zealand and Indonesia. This experience unexpectedly led her to realize God’s calling on her life: become a teacher. She went to MSU to pursue English and French teaching degrees, and

today Laura couldn’t be happier as a student teacher for 12th grade English and French 2. Jordan and Laura are grateful to the PCA family for bringing them together years ago and providing a solid Biblical foundation to build their future careers around. If you’re interested in learning about ways to support their ministry work, contact Jordan at jordan. allen@intervarsity.org or (734) 355-1758.

Many thanks to all who participated in PCA’s 1st #GivingTuesday campaign, #GivingTuePCA. #GivingTuesday, which began in 2012, is the day that individuals and businesses around the world came together for one common purpose: to celebrate generosity and to give. Tuesday, December 1, 2015 was the official #GivingTuesday and was a great way to kick off the Christmas season by focusing on giving back. Throughout the entire month of December, PCA families and friends have continued to give in incredible ways, with their time, talents and money. We encourage you to include PCA in your year-end giving plans and keep the #GivingTuePCA campaign until December 31. Your gifts to the Annual Eagle Fund allow us to continue offering student scholarships, professional development, accreditation and more. Donations can be mailed or made online at https://secure-q.net/ donations/Plymouth/841 for your convenience. “Sold” has become one of our favorite words. It has such a sweet ring to it. It brings bubbles of joy into our hearts each time we hear it. It never grows old. We never tire of hearing it. We look forward to the next time we can hear it because it means that another person has invested in the excellent education of tomorrow’s leaders! Our school is a very special place and we look forward to our biggest event of the year -- the PCA Auction. With a host of new ideas put into motion this year and a new auctioneer, we joined together for an amazing adventure at this year’s WILD ABOUT EDUCATION AUCTION! The auction generates tremendous spirit and we deeply appreciate your generosity. Every dollar raised helps us to continue our mission to educate students from a biblical worldview and equip them for lives of learning, leadership and service. Your gifts help us bring innovation to the classroom and this year broke a fall auction record. Overall, merchants, parents, teachers, and kids donated nearly 200 items! From hand-made items to a getaway at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, our friends and neighbors came through for PCA in creative and generous ways and we hit a record-breaking number, raising over $100,000 for our school in one night! Thank you to the entire 26th Annual Auction Team for their labor of love. We are blessed to be a part of this wonderful, caring, and hard working community! Whenever you have a chance, please be sure to acknowledge the impact that our donors, sponsors and local businesses have made on our school. On behalf of the entire staff, we would like to thank the nearly 400+ people that made this event so successful simply by attending. While the evening was truly about the students at Plymouth Christian, it was also great to see so many of our families, both current and past! We are hard at work on next year’s auction and already have another awesome theme, so be sure to SAVE THE DATE for Friday, October 30, 2016! Serving Him with You, Beth Larabee, Peggy Paulson
