Waiting in the Fog

Rob Rice submitted this photo of his 2005 Arctic Silver/Metropol Blue Carrera 2S taken early in the morning at Barber Motorsports in Leeds, AL. Barber was Rob’s ultimate destination on a road trip from Miami to Atlanta and the Porsche Experience Center, then on to the famed Barber Motorsports Park and Museum. After the drivers meeting, says Rob, they staged for the first session when fog rolled in and they were forced to wait for the fun to start.

Captured between marking time for the fog to lift and reveal the track, and the moment the red light turned to green, this image certainly portrays the anticipation of track time. And take note of the special license plate on this Porsche: Rob’s father served as a Navy pilot during the Vietnam War and so this 911 proudly displays the “Florida Salutes Veterans” plate.
