Internal Power Supply Every ALTUSEN KVM switch features a built-in full range power supply – not a bulky external power adapter – so that it will not horde valuable power strip space. Standard IEC power inlets also allow quick and easy cable replacement if the original power cable is ever lost or misplaced.
Space-Saving Design ALTUSEN KVM switches are designed for real-world applications. Our engineers continually explore new ways to conserve rack space for our customers. One example is the Dual Rail LCD KVM Switch. It offers a space-saving, streamlined approach to KVM switch technology by integrating an LCD monitor, keyboard, and touchpad in a Dual Rail housing. The Dual Rail housing is slightly less than 1U high for easy installation and manipulation in 1U of rack space.
Firmware Updates
Ten Reasons to Choose ALTUSEN Enterprise KVM Solutions
In keeping with our commitment to ongoing product support, we provide firmware updates for our KVM switches. As firmware updates become available we place them on our website so that customers can easily download and install them at their convenience.
Rigorous Testing Quality Engineering At ATEN we believe that a KVM switch is neither greater than its design nor better than the sum of its parts. For this reason, we employ engineers who are experts in their fields and provide them with an environment where they can thrive and give wings to their ideas. Furthermore, we carefully select and test every component before it goes into our ALTUSEN enterprise-class KVM switches. And we do not stop there. Throughout the design and production processes we continue testing to ensure that
ALTUSEN KVM switches are rigorously tested to ensure that they meet our high-quality standards. At our state-of-the-art research and design center, prototype KVM switches are put through a battery of tests to eliminate problems. Such tests include, operating the switch for ten thousand continuous hours, operating at elevated (or lowered) temperature levels and increased humidity, horizontal and vertical vibration tests, and even robots that push the buttons thousands of times. To ensure product reliability, ALTUSEN products have received certificates of compliance with the following standards – CE, FCC, UL, TUV, PSE and ISTA 3A drop test.
when you buy ALTUSEN enterprise-class KVM switches, you get the reliability and performance you demand.

Detachable Front Panel Many ALTUSEN KVM switches have a unique, detachable front panel, enabling the switch to perfectly fit in any rack depth. The front panel separates from the chassis for front-rack mounting, while the chassis can be mounted at the rear of the rack. This design provides the utmost convenience because it allows users easy access to both the front panel controls and rear panel connections. It also makes connecting computers to the switch a cinch.

6 7 Dual Rail LCD KVM Switches
All-in-One Dual Rail Design ALTUSEN KL series of enterprise class LCD KVM Switches/LCD Consoles offer a space-saving, streamlined approach to KVM switching technology by integrating an independently retractable LCD monitor, keyboard, and built-in touchpad in a Dual Rail housing. The Dual Rail housing is less than 1U high for easy installation and manipulation in 1U of rack space. To maximize space in your data center, the keyboard “hides away” when not in use, while the thin profile LCD monitor reclines against the rack to enable continuous monitoring of computers.
Adjustable LCD Positioning Ergonomic design allows the LCD module to rotate for a more comfortable viewing angle. ALTUSEN LCD KVM Switches/LCD Consoles rotate up to 120° for optimum comfort.
Second Console Port for Shared Access LCD KVM Switches/LCD Consoles provide second console ports for connecting an extra KVM console. The second console can be added easily via the rear port that enables a user to control the KVM switch and servers from an external console. Or, connect a KVM extender or CN8000 KVM on the NET™* to the second console port to provide remote access to the LCD KVM Switch/LCD Console and the attached servers.
Extra Mouse Port LCD KVM Switches/LCD Consoles have the added convenience of a mouse port for customers who want to use an external mouse instead of the touchpad.
Port Selection via Pushbuttons, OSD, Hotkeys The LCD KVM Switches provide three port selection methods to access computers on the installation including Hotkey, OSD and manual. Many models also have conveniently located station and port selectors with 7-segment LED displays to quickly switch to target computers.
Dedicated Invocation Keys Dedicated Invocation Keys allow you to conveniently invoke Hotkey and OSD modes. They reduce the number of keystrokes necessary to access important features.
* The CN8000 from ATEN is an ultra-compact, over IP solution for remote access to computers and KVM installations. Please see ATEN catalog or www.aten.com for more details.

Auto Scan / Broadcast Support ALTUSEN LCD KVM Switches feature auto scan functionality to scan and monitor the status of all connected computers. The scan interval can be set from 1–255 seconds at the administrator’s convenience. In addition, many models feature time-saving broadcast functionality that allows your commands from the keyboard to be broadcast to all available computers on the installation.
Console Lock The semi-automatic lock/unlock design enables the keyboard module to remain securely locked away in position when sliding the LCD out. When finished, just flip the cover down and unlock the release catch, then slide the module away. This function makes control and operation more safe, secure and convenient.
Icon Indicators Each LCD KVM Switch has helpful labels and intuitive, color-coded icons which help users to operate the device more easily. * Not all products support these features. Please see the comparison table for difference.
8 9 Dual Rail LCD KVM Switches
Single Person Easy Installation (Optional) ALTUSEN LCD KVM Switches/LCD Consoles allow you to choose from a host of optional rack mount kits to meet your needs, including the Single Person Easy Installation Rack Mount Kit, which streamlines the rack mounting process. Normal rack mounting procedures call for at least two people to rack mount a KVM switch. The Single Person Easy Installation Rack Mount Kit enables one person to rack mount an LCD KVM Switch. In just a matter of minutes, your new LCD KVM Switch/LCD Console can go from the box to the rack.

Centralized Control and Management CC2000 management software provides centralized management of remotely distributed IT devices. This includes ATEN/ALTUSEN “Over the NET™” devices – such as Power Over the NET™, Serial Over the NET™, and KVM over the NET™ – as well as redirection to other generic devices.
CC2000 Management Software
Master-Slave Architecture CC2000 management software uses a Master-Slave architecture to offer service redundancy with real-time database updating. With this feature, a Slave server can substitute for the Master if the Master server fails. Redundancy also means that should any of the CC2000 servers go down, its function and information is not lost – a redundant slave unit can take over to provide the required management services until the downed unit comes back up. In addition, double redundancy ensures smooth system management, since if a slave server in a remote site goes down, its redundant slave server will take over to provide the required management services.
Easy to use interface The CC2000 offers a user-friendly, intuitive, browser-based GUI for simplified access to IT equipment in global data centers and remote offices. The browser-based GUI offers a multilanguage interface to minimize user training time and increase productivity.
Task Scheduling Time and date scheduling of routine tasks, updates, configurations and file loading that can be performed across the installation couldn't be easier. Automatic scheduling of system and maintenance tasks include: exporting event logs, power controlling devices, upgrading the firmware of selected devices, export device log, and the backup of master server database, the device configuration and account information.
Logging, Audits and Alerts The CC2000 offers a wide array of flexible logging and reporting options with audit trails for diagnostics and troubleshooting. Powerful search functions and extensive sorting and filtering of log categories to quickly pinpoint the events you are searching for are also provided. Complete logs, as well as log search results can be exported for audit and analysis.
Panel DynaArray™ View the output of multiple ports in individual panels on the same screen. The panel allows you to be flexible – open, move, resize and close displays easily. This enables you to monitor priority devices or cascade panels accordingly.
Virtualization Support Virtualization lets offices consolidate their server rooms, such that fewer physical servers are needed to perform the same tasks. This not only saves hardware cost and power consumption, but also increases the efficiency and longevity of the company’s network infrastructure.

Virtual Remote Desktop* The remote desktop can appear full-screen or as a window with a flexible scaling video display. Advanced features such as the Message Board, Mouse DynaSync™, Virtual Media, and Keyboard Pass Through, create a Virtual Remote Desktop that allows users to operate servers from remote locations just as if they were actually at the local site. * Not all products support all the “Virtual Remote Desktop” features
Mouse DynaSync ™
Power Association NEW! Used in conjunction with ATEN/ALTUSEN PDUs power management device, you can associate a KVM Over the NET™ Switch’s port with a PDU’s power outlet, and then manage the power operation of a server from the switch’s interface – a single interface point. It also enables you to associate a second outlet port if the server has a dual power supply, and lets you synchronize the operation for both power supplies. In this way, Power Association reduces maintenance time and increases management efficiency
Dual IP/Dual Power Dual IP Dual Power supply operation provides the backup redundancy and reliability. Should one of the IP or one of the power supplies become unavailable, the other will take over in order to keep the system functioning normally.
Magic Panel
Automatically synchronizes the local and remote mouse movements for perfect alignment of mouse pointers, regardless of server mouse acceleration settings.
Intelligent Bus Assignment – Flexible Port Switching With Intelligent Bus Assignment users are automatically assigned to one of four buses as they log in. With Flexible Port Switching, up to 32 users can be flexibly distributed over 4 separate bus sessions and multiple users are allowed to share access to one server for maximizing system efficiency.
Adapter ID The Adapter ID Function stores port information such as the Adapter ID, OS, keyboard language, adapter name, and etc. This enables administrators to relocate the servers to different ports, without having to reconfigure the adapters and the switches.
A special hideaway control panel with configurable function icon enables you to control and manage the servers more conveniently.

Virtual Media Virtual Media support lets you map DVD/CD-ROMs and other storage media to a remote server. This function allows you to conduct file transfers, application and OS patches, and diagnostics remotely.
Green IT – Variable Fan Speed The switches have support for four temperature sensors that can control up to six fans. The sensors regulate the fans to run at optimum speed, using energy more efficiently and prolonging the life of both the fans and the switch.
Audio Enabled The switches are audio enabled. On the local unit, speakers and a microphone are supported; while remote units offer support for speakers only.
Blade Server Support Support for blade server associations with KVM switch ports allows the blade server chassis and individual blades to be integrated into the sidebar tree view and can be accessed as devices connected to the port.
Improved SNMP Trap Monitor the critical events on your system and customize the settings according to your needs. Logged events are divided into categories providing clear and complete information to administrators. Not all products support these features. Please see the comparison table for difference.

30 31 Power Over the NET ™
Power Management Features ALTUSEN's Power Over the NET™ products are designed with up to 20 outlets for easy server room management. Each outlet can be individually controlled so that users can set the power on/off sequence and delay time for each outlet separately, so that equipment to can be turned on in the proper order. On/Off scheduling allows administrators to configure start, shutdown, and restart times on a daily, weekly or monthly basis.
Real time Monitoring With PDU/Outlet level metering, IT administrators can easily monitor the real-time current, voltage, and power consumption status of all connected IT equipment via a browser-based UI. With the addition of temperature and humidity sensors, even the status of the rack environment can be monitored from just about anywhere in the world.
Outlet Switching By simply clicking a button on the browser-based UI, administrators can power control the connected devices with ease. There is no longer any need to move around the server room turning equipment on and off. Outlet level remote switching ensures that the server room operates smoothly.
Environment Monitoring The Power Over the NET™ supports external, environment sensors that allow administrators to monitor temperature and humidity remotely. IT administrators can set environment thresholds to identify critical value and take preventive actions before a system failure occurs – thereby helping to obtain the highest degree of availability for all mission-critical equipment.
Centralized Management Combining with ALTUSEN's CC (Control Center Over the NET™) management software gives IT administrators the advantages of centralized control over the entire Power Over the NET™ installation, as well as all other Over the NET™ products from a single user interface. By associating the KVM port, serial port and power outlet of an IT device, all the ports can be presented on the same web page for convenient access and management.
ALTUSEN Product Integration The ALTUSEN Power Over the NET™ can be integrated with multiple ALTUSEN devices to provide a single interface point – the switch’s interface – allowing IT administrators to control servers or serial devices at the same time as they control their power management. For KVM switches that support the Power Association function, a KVM port can be associated with a power outlet.
Redundant Power Management The ALTUSEN Power Over the NET™ supports daisy-chaining and outlet groups to provide redundant power management. Equipment with dual power supplies can be assigned to outlet groups for convenient control. Since up to 15 additional units can be daisy chained from the master unit, IT administrators can connect a server’s power cords to different units - each of which is connected to a separate power source - for failsafe operation. Management efficiency is also increased, since the power status of both outlets can be monitored and controlled from the same portal.
Early Warning Notification The Power Over the NET™ permits server room administrators to set custom thresholds for current, voltage, power consumption, humidity, and temperature. When levels exceed the user defined thresholds, designated recipients can receive alarm notifications via SMTP email, SNMP traps, or SMS sender (connected to the Digital Output port). An audio alarm can also sound and lights with blink at the local site. Necessary steps can be taken to avoid equipment damage due to such things as circuit overload – reducing mean time to recovery and minimizing loss.

Serial Over the NET™ products offer Real COM Port support. Devices connected to this type of virtual port appear as if they were directly connected to a COM port on the local computer. Data transmission between the device and the local computer takes place over the virtual COM port to the Serial Over the NET™ device. This mode is especially convenient for use with POS terminals, Bar Code Readers, Serial printers, etc.
Simultaneous Control Multiple users can log in at the same time via a TCP/IP connection from any computer connected to the Internet. Since the first 8/16 users are able to control separate ports, all attached devices (up to 8/16) can be accessed concurrently. The other concurrent login users may view the port's video output.
Individual Port Configuration The administrator, as well as users with port configuration permission, can set up a specific operating mode for each port: Console Management, Raw TCP Mode, or Real COM Port.
Product specifications and appearance are subject to change without notice.
38 39 Serial Over the NET ™
Alert Settings Support Serial Over the NET™ products can inform you via email about problems that may occur on the devices that are connected to them. Up to 10 keywords or phases for each port can be emailed to you. For example, when a device encounters a problem — such as a critical error that requires a reboot — a debug message is sent through its COM port. When the Serial Over the NET™ device receives the message, it sends an email to inform the user.
SN3101 Serial Device Server
Multiple Communication Modes The Serial Over the NET™ supports a wide variety of serial communication modes, such as Real COM, TCP Server, TCP Client, UDP, Modbus, Virtual Modem and Serial Tunnel – offering versatile and diversified serial data access methods to meet a broad range of application requirements.

Remote Environment Monitoring Via an Internet connection, IT administrators can conveniently observe the environment of their server rooms and data centers from virtually anywhere. Monitor temperature and humidity, in addition to the voltage and current status of critical equipment. Furthermore, users can set environment thresholds (When the humidity reaches a certain level for example) to allow equipment to be monitored for irregularity.
GN0116 Guardian Over the NET ™
Remote Power Management There is no need to move back and forth anymore to power on/off servers located in a server room. By simply clicking a button on the browser-based UI, administrators can reset devices, power devices/severs on/off, manually or automatically turn on/off lights, or enable/disable the backup power source. Real-time power control ensures the system/environment operates smoothly, avoids system interruption due to irregularities, and prolongs the lifetime of the systems or devices.
Automatic Control Administrators can set a logical relationship between an Analog/Digital Input port and Digital Output ports/ Power Outlets, such as to turn on the fan plugged into the power outlet of the GN0116 when the temperature (regulated by a sensor connected to an input port) reaches a certain level, or perhaps set off an alarm should smoke be detected. In a multiple GN0116 installation, the administrator can even configure relationships between the ports connected to different GN0116 units. Ultimately, maintenance costs are drastically reduced since constant administrator supervision is no longer required.
Early Warning Notification The GN0116 supports connection to various alarm devices and/or an SMS sender for early warning. With logical configuration, messages can be sent to administrators when irregularities occur. Also, an email warning can be sent via SMTP server, when a threshold has been exceeded. Necessary actions can be taken to avoid damage or minimize the loss which is caused by irregularities.

Comparison
Cost Effective Matrix KVM Switches allow 5 or 9 consoles to manage up to 32 target devices, while only taking up 1U of rack space. They also simplify cabling requirements and reduce cost by using Cat 5e/6 cable to connect console modules and KVM Adapter Cables. This not only permits extending the distance between console and servers up to 300 meters with 1280x1024@60Hz, but also offers an independent configuration for secure access, which is especially ideal for the security concerns associated with large server rooms and data centers.
Graphical User Interface The Matrix KVM Switch offers an intuitive, full screen Graphical UI for both Console and Browser-based sessions. The composite integrated tree view of all ports offers convenient navigation and access.
Dual Power Supply Dual Power supply operation provides backup redundancy and reliability – ensuring that down-time is kept at a minimum. Should one of the power supplies become unavailable, the other will take over in order to keep the system functioning normally.
Power Association Used in conjunction with ALTUSEN’s Power Over the NET™ power management device, you can associate a Matrix KVM Switch’s port with a PN0108’s power outlet, and then manage the power operation of a server from the switch’s interface – a single interface point. It also enables you to associate a second outlet port if the server has a dual power supply, and lets you synchronize the operation for both power supplies. In this way, Power Association reduces maintenance time and increases management efficiency.
Virtual Media Virtual Media support lets you map DVD/CD-ROMs and other storage media to any servers connected with virtual media-capable adapter cables. Virtual Media allows you to conduct file transfers, install applications and OS patches, and perform diagnostics from a console module – reducing down-time and saving maintenance costs.
48 49 Matrix KVM Switches
Flexible Scalability Matrix KVM Switches can be daisy-chained, cascaded, or both in tandem – flexible expansion configurations allows up to 9 consoles to control thousands of servers. Add consoles and servers a step at a time to match your company’s growth. Daisy-chaining KM0032 switches offers a further cost-saving configuration, since the use of dedicated chain ports allow all of the switch's KVM ports to be utilized for server connections – none of them need to be used for cascading. Your prior KH switch investment is protected, since those switches can also be cascaded.
Dual Root Configuration for Console Expansion The advanced Dual Root function allows you to link two KM0932 switches to achieve an 18 console configuration – letting you to expand the number of consoles flexibly to fit your requirements. It’s an ideal solution for applications that utilize multiple video displays, such as large data centers.
Non-blocked Access
Audio enabled The Matrix KVM Switch supports audio functions for multimedia-capable devices connected with audiocapable adapter cables. Sound output and beeps from the servers can be heard on the console’s speaker – allowing administrators to identify and troubleshoot system problems at an early stage, minimizing repair costs.
Adapter ID The Adapter ID Function stores port information such as the name, OS, keyboard language, and operation modes, etc. It enables administrators to relocate servers to different ports without having to reconfigure the adapters or change the user authorization settings of the KVM switch.
All consoles connected to a master switch have simultaneous access to any server on the same level, as well as having independent access to any server on the installation.
Superior Video Quality Matrix KVM Switches provide high video quality – 1280x1024 @60Hz up to 300 meters. The video signals are transmitted via Cat 5e/6 cable and maintain real-time and true video quality. Auto Signal Compensation (ASC), assures optimum video resolution over greater distances. In addition, an superior RGB deskew function corrects color phase and timing errors that occur over long distance transmissions – making a Matrix KVM Switch an excellent choice for video intensive applications.
Port Access Control via RS-232 Port Each of the Console Modules has a built-in RS-232 port. Administrators can establish a serial terminal login to the Console Module in order to control the KVM port access for all consoles connected to switch – any console can be assigned to access any KVM port from a single interface point. This function is extremely useful in large data centers where the display of all the consoles can be projected onto a wall for easy viewing of all operations, and the entire installation can be monitored on a port-by-port basis.

Console Modules & KVM Adapter Cables The Matrix KVM Switch’s modular design – using console modules to link the console devices (keyboards, monitors, and mice) to the switch, and KVM Adapter Cables to link the switch to the servers – allows for a high degree of platform and interface integration. You can have PS/2 and USB interfaces; Win, Linux, Mac, and Sun platforms; all working together smoothly on the same installation. The use of RJ-45 connectors and Cat 5e/6 cabling eliminates bulky traditional cables, and makes for more reliable throughput and a neat, efficient, uncluttered work environment.

About SPHD Connectors: Many of our KVM switches use SPHD connectors for their KVM and/or console ports. We have specifically modified the shape of these connectors so that only KVM cables that we have designed to work with the KVM switch can be connected.
