When I was little‌

I would scribble all over the paper and it would look like a big mess. .


Now‌

Now I can paint a canvas and create a sculpture.


When I was little‌

I could not balance to ride a bike.


Now‌

Now I can ride a bike and a scooter easily.


When I was little‌

I could not do gymnastics, like a one-handed cartwheel.


Now‌

I’m on a gymnastics team and compete against other gymnasts!


When I was little‌

I was afraid of motorcycle sounds because they sounded like thunder to me.


Now‌

I dream to ride one on the street when I get older.


When I was little‌

The pool seemed like a big monster.


Now‌

I am so good at swimming. I can do front and back flips in the pool.


When I was little‌

I couldn’t play violin, it felt as large as a beach ball.


Now‌

I am in orchestra and play a book above my grade.


When I was little‌

I couldn’t do a cartwheel, headstand, or backbend because my arms and legs were too short.


Now‌

I have become a gymnast and have contests with my friends.


When I was little‌

I couldn’t swim, the pool seemed as big as the ocean.


Now…

I can swim and I’m on the P.C. swim team!


When I was little‌

My mind seemed as small as a ping pong ball.


Now‌

You’ve given me opportunities so that my mind expands to different galaxies.


When I was little‌

I did not know how to ride my bike with 2 wheels. I could not get on the seat because I was too small.


Now‌

I can zoom up and down the street on my bike.


When I was little‌

I couldn’t reach the ping pong table when I was learning how to play.


Now‌

I’m playing like a Chinese ping pong player.


When I was little‌

I couldn’t understand what coding was.


Now‌

I can code a robot to measure energy.


When I was little‌

I thought dancing was just moving your arms and legs.


Now‌

I am dancing in shows and moving my whole body!


When I was little‌

I couldn’t balance to keep a scooter moving.


Now‌

I can jump as high as the Empire State Building on my scooter.


When I was little‌

I couldn’t sing my favorite songs.


Now‌

I’m in the 2nd and 3rd grade chorus and sing in concerts and plays.


When I was little‌

I would jump on the swing, but didn’t know how to make it move.


Now‌

I can swing high into the sky all by myself.


When I was little‌

I thought that swimming was just trying to keep my head above water.


Now‌

I swim so fast that I went to the Junior Olympics!


When I was little…

I couldn’t read easy books like The Cat in the Hat.


Now‌

I can read a huge chapter book with 300 pages!


When I was little‌

I watched you and learned how to cook.


Now‌

I can cook whatever I want.


When I was little…

I couldn’t pick up a pen and draw.


Now‌

I really enjoy art and I can draw all types of things.


But‌ we could not do any of these things‌ without
