It was a sunny Monday afternoon and it was last period. Mr. Decker was giving out envelopes. Inside of those envelopes were REPORT CARDS! Adam’s body was trembling like an earthquake! After he passed out all the report cards the bell rang. RING, RING! Adam wanted to make a tear in the report card so badly so he did. “Mr. Adam, you just almost got yourself a detention slip. One more time you do something bad you will go detention. Do you understand me?” Mr. Decker said. Adam nodded his head very fast. He just wanted to get home so he could open his report card. After that everyone barged out of school like CRAZY! “What do think you got on your report card Joey?” asked Adam.
“Probably A’s and B’s.” Joey said while they were walking out of school.
While Adam was walking home from school he opened his report card and this is what it said on It A+ English, A- in Reading, A+ in Math, F in Science. Wait ,slow it down! F in science? Mom and Dad are going to take something away and he could feel it. By the time Adam was finished looking at his report card he was already home. Adam, show me your report card,” said Mom. “How did you know that I was getting my report card today?” Adam asked. “I got an email from your principal. So show me your report card because I’m so excited to hear what grades you earned.” Adams mom said. Adam gave her the report and went to go and watch cartoons in the living room. “An F in science!” Adam’s mom said. Adam couldn’t hear anything because he was watching Tom and Jerry. “We will talk about what you are getting taken away during dinner.” Adam stomped up to his room.
“An F!” His dad said while they were eating dinner at the dinner table. “You’re not allowed to play tennis and you’re doing a science course at school, “said dad. “Please don’t take away tennis. “Adam begged “Sorry that’s final.” Dad said “How am I going to tell Coach Luis that I’m not allowed to play tennis.” He said he was going to put me in a tennis match on Saturday, Adam thought. “What about this if I get an A on the science test on Friday I’m allowed to play tennis again dad.” “Deal.” his dad said as he was eating his sandwich. “ Hi, I am your science teacher Mr. Roy. I’m going to give you all a test so I know what level to put you on. 40 minutes later Mr. Roy took all the papers. “Jake you are on level 10, Luke you are on level 12, and Adam you are on level 13.” Yes I’m on a high level. Adam thought. Later on Adam figured out that level 13 was the lowest level. “ What!! I am on the lowest level. How am I going to pass the science test if I am on the lowest level and the science test is day after tomorrow?”
Mr. Adam, I have seen you have been struggling so I am going to help you. First we are going to learn about the lungs.” When Adam got home he took out his book started trying to memorize the different parts of the lungs. “Don’t forget you have a science test tomorrow Mr. Roy said.” WHAT!!! Tomorrow! Adam didn’t think he was ready for the test When Adam got home his mom told him to dinner but he didn’t go he had to study. What am I going to get on my science test? Adam kept thinking in his head. Early the next morning around 4 o’clock Adam went to his desk opened his science book. “Here are your science tests. I’ll give you 35 minutes to do this test. 35 minutes later he gave back the tests. “YES!!!!!!!! I got an A+!!! I can play tennis again.” When Adam got home he kept on screaming, “MOM, MOM, MOM!!!!!! I got an A+ on my quiz. I can play my tennis match tomorrow!” “Very good honey now let’s go and eat dinner. “ I got an A+ on my quiz dad!!” “Very good now you can play your tennis match tomorrow.” Said Dad
“Good luck in your tennis match” Adam’s dad said. BOOM, BOOM, BOOM!!! 40-0, GAME!!! “Good job champ now let’s go and celebrate with some ice cream. AWESOME!!!! When they were finished they went to Ben and Jerries for some ice cream. Adam loved the smooth ice cream.
