PROFILE:MATCH® CASE STUDY: COVENT GARDEN DENTAL PRACTICE THE COMPANY Covent Garden Dental Practice (CGDP) is a privately run dental practice situated in Covent Garden, London. Winners of the Employer of the Year award 2009 at the private dentistry awards, they are renowned for their patient centered approach to dentistry. THE PROBLEM The practice was looking to employ a new receptionist and wished to recruit the best applicant for the role. Previously, for other positions, they had been inundated with applications, as individuals wanted to work at a top London dental practice and preferred its central location. They had found that it was very difficult to select from such large numbers of applicants who all had similar work experience. Additionally, they also wanted the successful candidate to have the personality attributes needed to perform well in this type of role and environment. THE SOLUTION CGDP decided to use PROFILE:MATCH® as part of their selection process to recruit a new practice receptionist. First, team members including dentists, consultants and office staff all completed the PROFILE:MATCH® Job Analysis Survey to assist them in choosing key competencies for the role. Once the competencies had been selected, all short listed applicants completed the PROFILE:MATCH® questionnaire using the online system. The selection reports, showing how well each candidate matched to each competency, were used to help choose the right candidate for this role. THE OUTCOME PROFILE:MATCH® enabled CGDP to appoint a new practice receptionist and were very pleased with the results.
