EVERYONE EXTEND UPDATE

We have had a lot of rain and some mighty wind, but our campus expansion is moving right along. The garage excavation is almost complete, and the tower crane is being constructed this week. You can’t see it, but utility work is underway also. The next area will be excavation for the gym. Please keep the construction crews in prayer as they labor to build our “New Doors.” extend.pcpc.org

OUR FAMILY

births • Bear Jackson Lord, son of Josh & Taylor Lord (CC#22) on June 3, 2019.

For the past two years, our VBS coordinators set aside the rising 8th graders to form a Servant Leadership Team (SLT). These students take on the huge role of making the class trains run on time as they transport groups of 30-40 preschoolers all over TVC campus, transitioning them from classroom to puppets to music to skit/worship and recreation. In addition to classroom support and transport, they play the role of “Bouncer” for 30 minutes with each age group as they rotate through our four bounce houses in the gym. Their role is to make sure these 2’s, 3’s, and 4’s have fun and play safely for 4 hours. This team also lends support to the teachers during early morning drop offs when the preschoolers need distraction the most. Watching the special bond that forms between these middle school volunteers and our preschoolers is one of the best parts of VBS each year. They engage 100+ preschoolers by name playing chase, Beck hoisting them hundreds of time on and off the bounce houses, becoming human jungle What does it mean to be a servant leader? gyms, or simply comforting a child who needs a break. What does it mean to be on student leadership team? What is our role?

What does it mean to be on student leadership team? What is our role?

Being on the SLT is a great opportunity to support the church by keeping kids safe. We set a good example on how to put others’ needs before our own.

Following in Jesus’ footsteps and serving everyone around us, including the youth. Our roll is to make the kids feel loved and welcomed at VBS so they want to come back and learn more about Christ.

What does it mean to be on student leadership team? What is our role?

What have you learned about being a servant?

Our role is to make sure the children are safe, have fun, and learn more about God.

What have you learned about being a leader?

What have you seen God do?

Others follow you when you set a good example and treat them well.

We have seen God work in the hearts of these little children. We have seen them grow in happiness and faith and are asking the Lord to continue the wondrous works we have seen Him do before.

What have you learned about being a servant? Being a servant requires responsibility, humbleness, positivity, and initiative. What have you learned about being a leader? As a leader, I have learned to have an initial plan, to be on time, and be inspired by God’s characteristics.

Serving is a rewarding sacrifice.

Can you share funny story? After coming down the slide, a two year old kept saying, “Up the mountain”. I finally understood he wanted me to help him go back to the top of the slide. What have you seen God do? Bring joy to kids who were sad the first day.
