Summer Movies in the Park is a perfect chance to relax and enjoy a special night under the stars. Bring your family and enjoy a movie on a 25 foot screen. What could be better? Bring your seating of choice (blanket or lawn chair) for an outdoor movie at Sedgwick Park (10th Avenue & 48th Street) on the main soccer field. This summer from June-August there will be a free, family friendly Movie in the Park featuring a different must-see flick. Movies will begin after sunset (approximately 8:30pm-8:45pm) when it is dark enough to play the movie. The season opener is on Friday, June 4th and will feature the classic The Goonies. The second showing will be on Friday, July 16th featuring Aladdin (2019) and NEW this year our series will end on WEDNESDAY, August 11th with Wonder. Admission is FREE but registration is required. Moviegoers are encouraged to get comfy and bring their favorite movie snacks or a picnic. Coolers and non-alcoholic drinks are allowed. We also recommend insect repellent. Come early to get a good seat!

Community Garden Plots (CG) The Park District’s Community Garden Plots are a resource for healthy goodness. Enjoy the season’s flavor and freshness with your own homegrown produce. Working your garden plot is an opportunity to grow organic, reduce food expenses, and relax in nature to improve mental health. Ready to plant 4’ X 8’ plots are available for La Grange and Countryside residents only. The $75 fee includes a $25 deposit which will be refunded at the end of season (10/16/ 2021) after gardeners have cleared their plots. Register early, plots are first come-first served until the 30 plots (4 handicap accessible) are filled. Forms are available at the front desk of the Recreation Center. A second plot may be reserved beginning May 17th if available. For more information please call Claudia Galla at (708) 352-1762. Back to School Supply Drive (AW)
A new school year means new school supplies. There are so many children in our community that need your help so they can go to school with the proper school supplies this year! The Park District and The LeaderShop is helping in-need children by gathering new school supplies. Our goal is to have 200 backpacks filled and distributed. We will accept any items from the list below or a solid color backpack filled with all the items. Drop off your donation(s) at the Recreation Center, 536 East Ave., La Grange. We will be collecting supplies until Friday, July 23rd.For information about distribution day, please visit www.theleadershop.org.
