Paolo Dolceamore MSc in Architecture Recent Architecture graduate from Politecnico di Milano, international MSc Programme “Architettura delle Costruzioni - Building Architecture”. My MSc Thesis project explores the High-Rise type in a consolidated urban context, helding sustainability as a key parameter at every level. More specifically, it shows how the integration of building systems and other technical aspects within the design process can play a decisive role in the fulfilment of the architectural concept. Tamale School Executive design carried out during Internship at Endarchitetti, 2018
This modular school building project has been driven by a detailed climatic and environmental site analysis; it was necessary to balance different needs, ranging from a poor availabable selection of technological solutions and building materials, to the necessities to cut down costs but still proposing a well landscape-integrated architecture. The building is made of simple squared modules arranged around an inner open fresh court. Modules are made of simple materials, and designed to exploit seasonal winds to get natural cooling and ventilation; also the roofing system has been designed to manage the consistant and intense insulation, with a relevant crawlspace between the upper cover and the slab.

Moreover, the deployed technologies were chosen to facilitate and also to speed up the building process, almost eliminating specialized workforce and import materials. As an intern, I was asked to work on the executive drawings for the construction site and to detail from a dimensional and technological point of view many parts of the building, such as the roofing, the windows and the lighting system.

reinventing the conventional process to achieve maximum efficiency in their homes. Their competition addressed the design of a modular prefabricated house to be included into the company’s catalogue. T-House was designed to maximize the housing quality through a careful disposition of functionally different spaces and rooms, sun exposure exploitation and one’s privacy assurance. The two floors of the building are arranged in order to part the ex-

Stairs are located in the crossing point between the living room and the kitchen; the wide connection between the two floors provides the house with more natural light and ventilation. The overhanging parts of the first floor and the wide frames around the balcony provide shelter in the summer and allow natural lighting while the sun is slow-pitched at the same time.

House of Religions Complex Construction Design Studio at Politecnico di Milano, 2019
The studio lead by the RWT Aachen University visiting professor Uwe Schroeder explored the topic of contemporary holy architecture. Students were asked to choose a site among ten locations in Milan, and design a complex building hosting the three main religions worship place: a Mosque, a Church and a Synagogue.

Furthermore, the project had to include a fourth sacred space meant for interreligious dialogue. The proposed project, located in piazza Prealpi, combines the public nature of a square with the sacred space function, in an interpretation of the ancient forum typology. The choice to locate the forum underground enabled the sacred rooms to get the necessary level of detatchment from the city context, not to mention optimal light control and noise protection. As a consequence, the ground level was preserved as a much needed void in a very dense urban context.
