with our annual mixer, which was a definite highlight of the conference. CCYA members participated alongside the Synergy youth in Judging and Herdsmanship competitions. The Herdsmanship competition was a new addition to the Synergy show, which was a great way to meet new people and learn new skills. The competition was divided into different ranch style tasks, including loading an AI gun, wiring the element of a watering bowl, identifying different grasses, among other activities that were to be completed by each team, whose members were assigned at random.

Our champion animals and our champion showmen were invited to compete in the Synergy Supreme Show on Saturday following our conference as well. Being in conjunction with Summer Synergy also provided the opportunity for our members to compete for more scholarships.

Overall, it was another fantastic conference filled with lots of competition, learning, and a chance to meet new people. The anticipation for the 2022 conference in Ontario is already building!

Wrights Win FenceFast Ltd. 4-H Giveaway

Cade and Jack Wright, of Pangman, Saskatchewan, won the Cloverbud/Junior division, of the FenceFast Ltd. Animal Management Giveaway. The competition was open to all Canadian 4-H members, with two $1,500 Gallagher Electric Fencing prize packages awarded to the top Cloverbud/Junior and Intermediate/Senior submissions. Each contestant submitted a photo, with their 2020-2021 4-H project, as well as a video explaining what they would do with $1,500 in electric fencing materials, to participate in the contest. The Intermediate/Senior division were required to do a write-up in place of a video.
