On Monday the freshmen shutout Community Christian which was followed by another shutout by the JV team against Bayshore. With those four combined wins, the varsity had to keep pace so they also whitewashed the Bayshore Bruins in three straight sets. Lake Placid came in the next night and stopped the Bulldog winning streak at 7 sets with a win over the JV team. Add 1⁄3 cup of the slaw to each roll and top with a catfish portion. Spoon 1 tablespoon of the remaining rémoulade on the catfish and top with the upper half of the roll.

As we were all standing there listening to grandfather and talking about how to get started, the idea came up that the younger men would follow the older ones and we would leave through a different place than where we came in, and that the Others might be out there watching for us and we needed time to look for Uncle Doyle. All of a sudden, the rope that Hanson had been pulling on started being pulled back through the hole. Whatever was on the other end of that rope must be huge and moving fast. Hanson made a mad dash for the rope, trying to stop it, but he wasn’t having much luck, that rope was going too fast. Then two or three of the people from there started trying to help, but nothing was even slowing it down. Soon, that rope was all gone and the hole was empty. Hanson was plainly upset. He told us that he had been working on bringing that thing in for days and now it was gone, but now he would just have to go out and catch another one and that it would just have to wait until his dad was found. After all, finding his dad was a lot more important. Catch what? I was thinking. I wanted to ask, but everyone was so upset about Uncle Doyle that I decided not to. Besides, it looked like I was the only one that didn’t know what it was anyway, everybody else seemed to know what got away. I guess I would wait until the proper time to find
out. Right now, we needed to find Uncle Doyle. As a matter of fact, we needed to find him pretty quick, the rest of that fertilizer would be gone soon. Grandfather must have been thinking the same thing, because he began organizing the ones who were going. He brought me out first and told everyone that I had to go because I was the only Warrior left. I felt so proud standing up there by my grandfather, Me, the big Warrior. Who knew that I was going to be so important, little boy growing up in little town. Never thought of myself as anything. Now here I am , fixing to save the Tree. Everyone was looking at me, yes sir. It was my moment. Then Hanson gives a little cough and walks over and pats me on the back. I thought he came over to congratulate me. Not so, he already towered over me. As he was standing right beside me, it was even more obvious that he was a lot taller. I have to admit I was feeling a little intimidated. Actually, I was very intimidated, but I tried not to show it. Hanson put his arm on my shoulder and I thought he was going to tell us all something important. After all, he already butted in on my time. Hanson started right off with how it would take more than a Warrior to get to the top of that mountain. That we did need a Warrior to make the climb, but we needed more than just a Warrior. Just a Warrior? I thought.

Attendance Winners PRS BULLDOG YOUTH SPONSOR Memorial Elementary School celebrated the accomplishment of the best attendance in each grade level for August. The Top attendance award with the best overall attendance went to Mrs. Morris’ 5th-grade class. The remaining winners for each grade level are as follows: Mrs. Espinoza-4th Grade; Ms. Burns- 3rd Grade; Ms. Hines-2nd Grade; Mr. Telfer-1st Grade; Mrs. Neads-Kindergarten. When students regularly attend school they can build important social skills that will help them learn and grow. Higher attendance rates will come with increased success in meeting academic goals and higher success rates in the classroom as opposed to students who are regularly absent from school.
