Even More to Love for ShEaster
By Mikkel Hyldebrandt
With Easter kicking off the Spring season, the organizers behind More To Love, Queen Butch, and Deep South is treating Atlanta to a weekend packed with parties.
Instead of potentially promoting their Easter weekend parties individually, the organizers behind More To Love, Queen Butch, and Deep South recognized the advantage of joining forces and cross-promoting their events. The joint effort offers a weekend of high-quality events and parties that celebrate the coming of Spring and attracts worldclass talent to Atlanta Club.
The weekend kicks off with the Wonder party by More To Love. The party promises to take you ‘down the rabbit hole’ with an Alice in Wonderland-inspired event highlighting well-known themes from the fairytale and introducing new ones. As always, the focus of MTL events is charity-focused, and the Wonder event will honor an incredible individual by raising funds for the Lynn Barfield Bike Foundation.
“If you know MTL, you know we like to showcase local groups and individuals in Atlanta’” says Chad Wick, founder of MTL, “That’s why this event is not one to miss and a great way to kick off Sheaster weekend.”
Directly following Wonder, Queen Butch bids you welcome to the Back Room at the Heretic – a darker side of Queen Butch where the music is pulsating, and the vibrations deliver a cross-genre of sounds between house, techno, acid, and trance. “We embrace individuality while encouraging our guests to show up and show out; looks are highly encouraged! Bring out your leather, latex, lashes, singlets, boots, sports gear, or even your cha-cha heels,” says Alfons Dovana, creator of Queen Butch events, “This Good Friday will be a special night for us and a true family affair. Nita Aviance (Carry Nation), William Francis (NYC), and Vicki Powell (Deep South ATL) have a history of friendship and playing together, so I’m super excited to hear what they have in store for us on this euphoric night.”
On Saturday night, Deep South invites you to join them at upstairs at Future Atlanta for a night of dancing (and perhaps a little debauchery) in the company of resident DJs Vicki Poweel, Alexis Curshé, and Brian Rojas and headlining DJ Keenan Orr (DC), who is Deep South favorite. “Keenan has played multiple times with Deep South, and we love his energy and ability to transform the mood in the club and put the dance floor in a frenzy,” says Brian Rojas from Deep South. The Deep South crew also choose the upstairs venue at Future because the room’s vibe is a perfect fit for a Deep South party. “The last time we played upstairs, the energy was intimate and sexy, and we want to magnify that for ShEaster, so expect a fun, sexy party you don’t want to miss,” says Brian.
To cap off the epic ShEaster weekend, Deep South’s decade-long Sunday Service opens its season Sunday Night. “This party is very near and dear to us, and the season opener is always a highlight,” says Brian Rojas, “no matter how many show up, it still feels like a family affair on the dance floor. And it means that Spring and Summer are here!”
