From the Editor You know, if you strip away all of the material aspects of the Holidays and even a good portion of all the faith-related stuff, you would still end up with a season where people just try a little bit harder to be kind, generous, and just better! For me, that is what Christmas is all about: Regardless if you are religious or not, or you do the Holidays just for presents and parties, the season still manages to remind us to be a little bit roomier, to look friends, family, and loved ones in the eye and tell them you love them, and to just accept change better, and be less combative. So, from all of us at Peach, we wish you a season of warmth and lots of love.

Empowering Teachers Across the World By Mikkel Hyldebrandt Casey Hall is a Fine Arts Support Teacher and Music Specialist for Fulton County Schools. But next year he’ll be relocating to Uganda for the month of July to be part of a special teacher training program. Peach talked to Casey about this incredible journey, the difference it is going to make, and what he needs to be able to go – and yes, you can help him out. Casey describes his job teaching music to elementary school kids as ‘quite literally the cutest/best job in the world.’ In addition to teaching, he gets the opportunity to share his teaching experience through supporting and coaching other music teachers within South Fulton County to enhance student achievements within their own music classrooms. This comes in the form of traveling to other schools, providing curricular, behavioral, and classroom management support, as well as implementing professional development opportunities for teachers to continue to develop their craft. That same talent for coaching other teachers has earned him a spot on a teacher exchange program in Uganda in July of next year, that will not only impact the teachers in Uganda but more importantly the students. You have been selected as a member for the Limited Resource Teacher Training (LRTT) Uganda Fellowship for Summer of 2019 – Tell us about what that is. LRTT works in close partnership with Great Lakes Regional University in the Bwindi District, Southwest Uganda to promote high-quality education through teacher training. Working in partnership with the Kanungu District Education Office, teachers from 35+ primary

and secondary schools are part of the training program. The team will conduct lesson observations during school term time to deepen the understanding of challenges faced by teachers in a rural Uganda context. These observations play a part in shaping the upcoming LRTT training during the team’s collaborative planning sessions. The team will co-facilitate LRTT workshops within the network or Ugandan Lead Teachers. The course aims to introduce participating Ugandan teachers to a range of teaching strategies in the classroom that they can practice and embed into their own teaching practice. The course is structured as a series of group workshops, micro-teaching, and peer observations. Afterward, through a cycle of observations and reflective coaching sessions, LRTT fellows work closely with the Ugandan teachers to embed these new approaches and empower teachers to experience real change in their classrooms. This feedback cycle also helps to inform us tailoring the sessions for future workshops. Why do you think you were chosen for this program? If you know me at all (or have yet to get to know me), you’d know that I have a huge passion for education.

Do you have to meet specific requirements or obligations before you go? In order to accomplish this task, I must raise roughly $7,000. These funds will be used to offset the cost of the trip’s expenses which include travel, insurance, vaccinations, travel visas, accommodation, meals, transport, small excursions, Ugandan education conference costs, support, and trainings. Please understand that the money raised does not go to my own personal bank account. It will go directly to helping support our efforts in Uganda to develop teacher practice for the sake of Ugandan students. What do you hope to achieve with this work?

In my years of teaching music to children, getting a master’s degree, a culturally proficient coaching endorsement, presenting at numerous education conferences (regional, national, and international), as well as joining Fulton County’s Fine Arts Support Team, I’ve come to realize the incredible power of supporting teachers to ultimately drive student achievement in their classrooms. I believe I was chosen for this program because of my passion for supporting educators be the best they can be—wherever and whoever they are! I am honored and humbled to be considered and selected to be a part of this team to really make a difference! What will your work consist of once you make it to Uganda? The 2019 Uganda fellowship aims to support and improve the quality of education through a cycle of professional development workshops, collaboration, coaching, and observations. Our team will be working alongside Ugandan teachers to enhance, learn, and improve the educational systems in the Bwindi District of Uganda.

I am incredibly honored to have been selected as a member for the Limited Resource Teacher Training (LRTT) Uganda Fellowship for Summer of 2019. Using my knowledge and skills as an educator and instructional coach here in the States, I will have the opportunity to share various instructional strategies, behavioral/classroom management techniques, and curriculum support to teachers in rural Uganda for the month of July 2019. It is my hope that the work that we do in Uganda will ultimately impact the lives of Ugandan students in the future!

Here’s How You Can Help Casey Go to Uganda Go to Casey’s GoFundMe page by either searching “Uganda Help Casey Teach Teachers” on the website or scan the QR code provided here for a direct link to the fundraiser page. You can donate as little or as much as you can! “Any amount will be beneficial in helping me reach my goal. I really appreciate any help you could give, and I am honored to be selected to help out in Uganda!”

Converting a Good Son By Gregg Shapiro

At a mere 21 years-old, Oscar-nominated and sexually “fluid” Lucas Hedges is one of the busiest actors on film. Since his remarkable performance in 2016’s “Manchester By the Sea”, for which he earned a Best Supporting Actor Academy Award nomination, Hedges received raves for his work in “Lady Bird” and “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri”, both released in 2017.

based on John Smid, allows for Jared to leave at the end of the day and return to the hotel room he is sharing with Nancy for the duration of the program. As the days go by, we witness the destructive impact the experience has on Jared, as well as fellow enrollees including Gary (gay singer/songwriter Troye Sivan), Lee (Emily Hinkler) and Cameron (Britton Sear).

In “Boy Erased” (Focus Features), the second film directed by and co-starring Joel Edgerton (“Kinky Boots”), Hedges steps into the lead and easily owns the movie, which is based on the memoir by Garrard Conley (renamed Jared in the movie). Jared (Hedges, who received a Golden Globe Award nomination for his performance) is the only son of preacher and Ford dealership owner Marshall (Russell Crowe) and his devout and devoted bleached-blonde wife Nancy (the ubiquitous Nicole Kidman). Jared is the very definition of a good son from a religiously conservative home. A player on his high school’s basketball team and a good, college-bound student who resists the temptation of pre-marital sex, he is a source of pride for his parents.

Nancy, like the mother character of Eileen (Virginia Madsen) in Yen Tan’s devastating “1985”, is far more sensitive to her son’s emotional welfare than his father. Ultimately, it is Nancy who comes to Jared’s rescue, but it is a long and drawn-out arrival. As expected, this has a far-reaching result, effecting Jared’s parents’ relationship. On the other hand, it provides Jared with a newfound strength, particularly when it comes to dealing with his father.

Away at college, Jared has a kind of awakening. He finds himself attracted to fellow runner and Christian student Henry (Joe Alwyn), but an unexpected sexual encounter devolves into rape and a shocking confession from Henry. Feeling threatened by Jared’s avoidance of him, as well as the information that Jared has about him, Henry calls Jared’s house making all sorts of accusations about Jared’s sexuality. Confronted by his parents, Jared admits his same-gender attraction. Jared’s parents enroll him in the controversial Love In Action “conversion therapy” ministry. The initial 12-day program, led by counselor Sykes (Edgerton) 16 | 12.19.18

The timing of “Boy Erased” arriving in theaters when it does couldn’t be better, with both religious zealotry and homophobia on the rise. Edgerton’s use of muted lighting is quite effective in setting the mood, but people should be aware that while “Boy Erased” concludes on a relatively upbeat note, getting to it is an emotionally draining experience. Lead actor Lucas Hedges was recently nominated for a Golden Globe Award in the category Best Film Drama Actor.

Margot Robbie Holds Queer Court By Chris Azzopardi After a fierce, Oscar-nominated turn as scandalous skater Tonya Harding in 2017’s I, Tonya, Margot Robbie is off the ice and holding royal court as Queen Elizabeth I in Mary Queen of Scots. Exercising a power over Europe so great during the 16th century’s latter half, nothing could stop Her Majesty – not even her cousin, Mary Stuart (portrayed by Saoirse Ronan). Their vicious and ultimately deadly contention, the result of Mary’s request to be Elizabeth’s heir, is chronicled with delicious matriarchal bite for the #MeToo era, glamorous period-film beauty (those gowns!) and one very infamous beheading in director Josie Rourke’s diverse doozy of a historical drama. Beau Willimon’s screenplay also turns a tender, heartbreaking eye to Elizabethan Era queerness via Italian courtier and Mary’s friend and private secretary, David Rizzio, known in the film simply as Rizzio and portrayed by Ismael Cruz Cordova. Ruler of the box-office in films such as 2013’s The Wolf of Wall Street and 2016’s Suicide Squad, as hammer-wielding warrior Harley Quinn, a role she will reprise in 2020 for a Harley-centered spin-off, Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn), the 28-year-old Australian actress is a queen in her own right. Read on for Robbie’s essential tips for drag queens looking to perfect their Elizabeth look (hint: no arsenic) – plus, talk about her “too gay to function” brother Cameron Robbie, whom she considers her best friend, and a career highlight: watching Martin Scorsese direct a gay orgy.

What tips do you have for drag queens looking to transform themselves into Queen Elizabeth I? (Laughs) Well, you definitely want to avoid getting smallpox – you have to really layer on the makeup to hide those pox-mark scars! So avoid that at all costs.

For a drag makeover, I could give you a list of what not to do: number one, don’t put lead and arsenic in your makeup the way Queen Elizabeth did because, uh, it really could shorten your life. And I love that she stuck to the red hair and went with the even more vibrant color red and the more elaborate hairstyles as the years progressed.

The contrast with the white makeup, it really worked on her. Mmhmm! Serious contrasting. I mean, she had very thin eyebrows – I don’t think that’s really the style these days. Not really in vogue right now.

But if you really set yourself apart… Exactly. If you wanna make it clear that you’re really heading toward Queen Elizabeth, yeah, the thin eyebrows are a definite giveaway. White makeup. Fiery red wigs. And just bedazzle yourself. Jewels everywhere!

So that was really interesting, and then on the flip side the women at the time, particularly female monarchs literally were a body. That was their commodity Producing a male heir was kind of their purpose and once they had done that and achieved their purpose, they were kind of swept aside. So, it was interesting to see, on one side, how liberal and open sexuality could be at the time – but, on the other side, how women were seen as a commodity, and not more than a conduit for their male successor.

Shifting to your portrayal of Tonya Harding, did you know that you were playing someone who many in the LGBTQ community consider a queer icon? I did not realize that at the time. I did hear that, and I thought, “Oh, she’s got some pretty fun skate costumes!” But tell me more about that.

It’s her underdog status.

They wore their jewelry in a different way. Instead of wearing necklaces and bracelets and earrings, which they did do, jewels and diamonds and rubies were sewn into their outfits, which I thought was really amazing. Then when they would get undressed – at the end of it their ladies in waiting would undress them – the jewels would just scatter to the floor and someone would have a dustpan and sweep them up for the next outfit.

Underdog status – I love that, yes. Well, as an Aussie, we always gravitate toward underdog stories, anyway, so yeah, that’s one of the reasons I played her.

When you read the script, were you surprised by the film’s queerness? And were you disappointed that Mary got a gay “sister” friend in Rizzio and you didn’t?

You’ve long fought for LGBTQ underdogs. You were a staunch supporter of marriage equality before Australia finally legalized same-sex marriages. You even wore a “Say I Do Down Under” shirt when you hosted Saturday Night Live in 2016. December marks the one-year anniversary of that landmark ruling. How did you celebrate the legalization of same-sex marriage in Australia last year?

Yes! I was very jealous of Mary’s plot in general. I think it was actually a big part of it, that Elizabeth was more isolated. I think that was kind of self-inflicted; she had such a mistrust in almost everyone around her and had a very cynical nature out of self-preservation, therefore she isolated herself. Even with the gowns, you see over the years, as they get bigger and bigger, she’s literally keeping people at arm’s length at all times. So, I was very jealous that I didn’t have the same (relationship) as Mary and Rizzio. So very unfair. (Laughs)

What about this time period were you most surprised by? I was interested to kind of discover that the Renaissance period was much more liberal in terms of sexuality than it is today. It’s interesting to kind of consider that, or to recognize how we just put labels on everything today. We label everything, and in doing so we often simplify often-complicated things. We’re so quick to say, “This person’s straight, this person’s bisexual, this person’s gay, this person’s Republican, this person’s whatever,” and we label everything. But in terms of sexuality, the Renaissance period, they were far more fluid about sexuality, and bisexual wasn’t really a term that had to be placed on someone – it was very common for men to be married and also sleep with other men. That wasn’t something that people felt the need to label.

20 | 12.19.18

Is being an underdog an Aussie thing? Yeah, yeah. Always. The country identifies itself as an underdog itself and has that mentality of fighting for your place, so I love underdog stories.

Honestly, I almost didn’t feel like celebrating because I was so upset that it took them that long to legalize it. I feel like when it was legalized across America that’s when I really wanted to celebrate. I thought, “Wow, this is a long way for America to come.” America, to me, holds such conservative Christian values, generally speaking, so for that to happen in America was like, “Wow, this is really a time to celebrate.” The fact that Australia, who really does pride itself on being such a progressive nation – and it is in a lot of ways. Australia is awesome and can be so progressive, but the fact that we were so late in doing that upset me so deeply that I truly almost didn’t want to celebrate because I thought they didn’t deserve celebration.

Too little, too late, Australia? (Laughs) Yes, too late, Australia! No, no; it was bittersweet. Of course, I was happy and proud that we finally joined the 21st century in that regard, but at the same time, it was bittersweet. I really felt it should’ve been done a lot sooner.

You have a brother, Cameron, who has described himself on Instagram as “too gay to function.” Are you aware of the gay community’s interest in your brother?

I had read that Scorsese even brought in another choreographer, Michael Arnold, to help organize the shoot.

No! But I’m sure he would love to hear that. He’s awesome. I have two brothers and a sister, but Cameron and I were particularly close growing up. He’s always been my best friend – since he was born, really. So, he would be thrilled to hear that. He would really appreciate that.

Oh yeah! It was intricate. There was a lot going on. It was wonderful to be a part of it, though.

How did he come out to you? Well, I guess that’s kind of his story to tell. I wouldn’t feel right to speak on his behalf. But like I said, he’s my best friend, as are all my siblings. I love them endlessly and always will.

Does he take you to gay bars? I’ve been going to gay bars and clubs since I got my ID – and probably long before that! There was this fantastic gay club in Melbourne, so when I turned 18 – 18 is the legal drinking age in Australia – and while I was living in Melbourne we used to always go, because on a Saturday night they would do a musical drag performance. It was always incredible. I don’t know how they would get it together every week. I don’t know where they found the time or the costumes; they had the costumes put together, the musical art, the choreography. But every Saturday night we would go to this club and just have the best time ever. And I remember they did this one musical performance about Wicked and it was just the best thing you’ve ever seen. So, I’ve been going to gay clubs ever since I’ve legally been able to go to clubs. I always have more fun.

Those queens are gonna be very proud to see you as an actual queen. Yes, I hope so!

Iconically, you walked in on a gay orgy dressed in Versace in The Wolf of Wall Street. Was that a first for you? That was a first for me. I can’t say that I’ve walked in on any gay orgies in the past.

In a Versace outfit, no less.

In August, DC Comics confirmed that Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy are married, and in 2020, you will play Harley in her own movie. For Birds of Prey, are you mindful of the way Harley is portrayed when it comes to her sexuality? Yeah. If you read the comics, you know that Poison Ivy and Harley have an intimate relationship. In some comics they convey it as a friendship; in other comics you can see that they’re actually sexually involved as a couple. I’ve been trying to – I would love to have Poison Ivy thrown into the universe, because the Harley and Poison Ivy relationship is one of my favorite aspects of the comics, so I’m looking to explore that on screen.

Have you considered who you’d want as Poison Ivy? You know what? I’ve thought about it a lot and there’s no one person who springs to mind. I’m pretty open-minded.

You have your own production company, Lucky Chap, which is committed to producing female-led films. How conscious are you of LGBTQ inclusion in the films and TV shows your company produces? Our goal for the company has always been to tell female-driven content with as many female filmmakers as possible. As far as including content for the LGBTQ community, that’s a huge aspect. We make movies for audiences to love. A huge portion of the audience is a part of the LGBTQ community, so we obviously wanna make content for everyone. I don’t know if anyone could say that they don’t have someone close to them who isn’t a part of that community, so of course it’s important. It’s a part of everyone’s life; everyone’s gonna relate to those stories. We have a lot happening, actually, at the company, especially on the TV side. I’m not sure when they would actually be released – nothing’s been announced yet – but what I can say is, absolutely. We always wanna make stories for everyone.

In the most fabulous Versace outfit you’ve ever seen! I really wish that they got more screen time – I don’t think you ever get to see them – but they were incredible vintage Versace boots buckled all the way up to mid-calf.

Hate to break it to you, Margot, but I don’t think that scene was about your boots. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I don’t think anyone was looking at the boots. But to watch Martin Scorsese choreograph a gay orgy was truly a highlight of my career. He really approached it with as much professionalism and dedication as any other scene in the movie. I mean, a lot of the scenes are absolutely crazy with so much happening, but to see him sort of choreograph the gay orgy was truly a wonderful experience.

That Loving Feeling By Jamie Kirk

I 100% agree with the notion that the Holidays put everyone in a good mood: The lights, the parties, the presents, the presence of family, being off work, school being out, the kids on their best behavior (because of their Santa list), the smell of real trees, and the excitement of a brand new year.

a health issue. But those Debbie Downer thoughts have to be placed on the back-burner. If only for a while. There is a time and a place for not-so-positive thoughts and Christmas time is not one of them. Christmas time is truly the time to rebuild, re-engineer, and refocus on gratitude and thanksgiving.

The most exciting part of the Holidays for me is hitting the reset button. The Holidays make you think of what you were doing last year this time, and what you want to be doing this time next year. It’s nostalgia mixed with anticipation. That is such a great recipe! Being able to look at the past, but yet create a future.

I love the holidays for encouraging each and every one of us to put family first, friends first, positive vibes first, good times, and good drinks first. Not allowing anything to compromise our joy or planning for the upcoming year. The holidays have a unique way of placing barriers around our brains forcing us to listen to upbeat Christmas music, helping the neighbors put up Christmas lights and sip eggnog with strangers at a holiday party.

This time of year really makes you feel lucky to be alive. Lucky to have “made it” through another year. Unfortunately, we tend to think the year was difficult, but that’s because we are humans and humans highlight the bad and tend to de-emphasize the good stuff. Literally, right after Halloween we start the countdown to the new year. The Christmas anticipation fills most of us with giddy thoughts, thoughts of good times and forgetting about our little troubles and picking them up post January 2. Christmas time is the time of year that we can live guilt-free without feeling guilty. If that makes sense. When you drop all the heavy loads of the year and perhaps reflect on the disappointments, most of us immediately think, new year, new me. Christmas time is a major contributor to this feeling of glee. When folks that are in good spirits surround you, it almost commands that you match their energy. You have to admit, it’s hard (not impossible) to be around folks that are upbeat and festive, but yet remain in the dumps. I get it; I get it. Not everyone enjoys the Holidays; some folks have recent losses, some people are looking for work, some folks are trying to get over 32 | 12.19.18

So during this time of year, especially Christmas time, it is essential that we roll out the red carpet for our friends and family. Smile more. Buy a stranger cocoa at Starbucks. Allow people to get the parking spot you circled around the deck for. Let the other person hang up the phone first. Let the client vent without reacting. Text first. Be kind, even when no one is watching. Be courteous to your annoying co-workers. Buy your boss lunch. Do things this season and every season that feel good to you and them. Love always feels good. Giving love. Receiving love. Sharing love all feel great. And if for some reason you can’t give it, don’t feel you aren’t a candidate to receive it and don’t wanna share it. Just give the mirror a big ole hug and save all your loving for yourself. Nothing wrong with that sometimes. Jamie Kirk works for a software company and is a certified spinning instructor. He also enjoys yoga, swimming, bicycling and running. He aspires to start a blog about what we put in our bodies not only fuels our body but our mind and spirit as well. X-Rated Christmas Waking up on Christmas morning brings different joy to different people. I like to start my day with my traditional Christmas drink: whiskey on the rocks with a drop of eggnog. The season brings me so much love (aside from Black Friday) that I started asking my friends what their favorite Christmas tradition was. After I’ve had two servings of my most festive drink, I went down to the corner of 3rd and Piedmont to chat up my friend, local sex worker Dixie Danglers. Dixie is hitting well into her fifties, so she’s seen her share of Christmases. She shared with me her favorite morning activity: Curbside Cuckling. It’s a time-honored tradition of picking up clients and then having them to watch as you have sex with their spouse. Dixie and her gals make a game of it, trying to see who gets the most cuckles before noon! She got the idea when she tried searching the internet for ‘curbside chuckling’ (a gypsy tradition of laughing at people while sitting on a curb). Who knew a small typo would brighten her life forever. If you find yourself on the curb this Christmas morning, try some cuckling. Make a game of it! Dixie says you get bonus points if you Salute the Badge, that’s when you have a police officer watch you get down and dirty with their partner in the back of a cop car with the car’s megaphone on. Finishing my cheerful chat with Dixie, I proceeded to stumble to my neighborhood bar to refill my yuletide refreshment. I usually make a pit-stop at the bar before heading out to see my loved ones. It helps me be around them. I ran into an old classmate at the bar, Marlene Diesnutz, who was celebrating her own Christmas tradition: Baby Jesus Bathroom Bonanza. Marlene was always a very devout Catholic, but she was also a slut. The rules of her game are: you stare down someone at the bar, and when they reciprocate with an equally sexual glare, you both take a shot and sneak into the bathroom for one and a half minutes of heaven. You get bonus points if you convince the bouncer you were in there ‘just doing coke.’ After I finished a few more rounds of poor choices, I head over to my family’s annual Christmas party. To clarify, they’re not my actual family. I like to go to wealthy neighborhoods, with those mega-mansions, and rummage through people’s mail. The first mailbox that has Christmas RSVPs, I go in and impersonate a family member. It’s easier than it sounds. Rich people tend to forget what their family looks like since their faces aren’t printed on any currency. The whole experience is great improv training, and if there’s hot relative, I play my own personal favorite Christmas activity: Mitzi’s Manger Ménage a Trois. Rich people love to decorate their front yards with very expensive, life-size nativity scenes. I sneak away with the hottest two ‘relatives’ I can find, and receive my Wiseman’s gifts (if you get my gist). As a bonus, I hide a camera ahead of time and make a movie. I play it in the living room while no one is looking and make a hasty getaway. It’s a gift the family will never forget! If you’re really crafty, hide a second camera and record their reactions! If you run into me this Christmas, tell me your own favorite tradition! I always love getting ideas from other people’s bad decisions. And if I don’t see you, I hope these stories inspire you to have yourself a merry X-rated Christmas.

Yours festively,

Him: If you are smiling send, send me your smiles

Him: If you are sleeping, send me your dreams

Tonight, skip the gum. Sometimes I like a dirty mouth on you ..

Him: If you are crying, send me your tears!

Him: I love you!

You may think they are my quirks, but I think they are more like my superpowers!

Me: I am on the toilet – what do you want me to send?

You don’t need a whole squad. You need one friend who will stand up for you. That’s all. I don’t want a guy who will be the spine of my life. I want a guy who is the shiver that runs up and down it. I love a good dose of holiday spirit! Please pour me some more!

Asking for a friend: Is vodka a carb? If not, I’m crushing this diet!

10pm no cover

TAURUS (APR. 20 - MAY 20) You’ve had him come around strictly for your enjoyment, but now you find you have deeper feelings for him. You love how you relate to each other, and he brings a fun energy to your life. You weren’t prepared for a romance, but here it is. Let him in further today. This diamond in the rough may turn out to be a keeper.

GEMINI (MAY 21 - JUN. 20) People can’t tell if your flighty personality is really you, or a clever act designed to lure guys into your cute little web. It’s a little of both, actually, as flirting becomes you, and you’ve learned how to harness that power to your advantage. Have fun with it, but watch how far you go today. Once they find out you’re all talk, they may want you to put your money where your mouth is.

SAGITTARIUS (NOV. 22 - DEC. 21)

CANCER (JUN. 21 - JUL. 22)

You’re beginning to look at your relationship in terms of the smaller details, and not just one big picture. Putting your relationship under a microscope is always good, and seeing the tinier aspects helps you appreciate each other as individuals, as well as partners. But don’t get too analytical. Being surprised by interesting personality aspects is part of the fun of healthy relationships.

Introductions were made, pleasantries were exchanged, drinks were bought and phone numbers were shared, as was a quick kiss at the end of the night. Now what? You don’t want to seem desperate or needy. Let him call me first, you think. In the meantime, he’s probably thinking the same thing. If you want that man, pick up that phone, and get him. Dancing about won’t get you anywhere.

CAPRICORN (DEC. 22 - JAN. 19)

LEO (JUL. 23 - AUG. 22)

Through the years you’ve been tempted by many persuasive men who continually test your fidelity. But you’ve remained faithful to your partner, and you have the maturity and clarity of thought to realize what you stand to lose. Your partner may have no idea of these challenges, and you may not want to tell him. He may have a few sordid stories of his own you’d rather not hear.

You’ve got a number of unfinished projects on the back burner, and they bear the names of people you said you’d call. Don’t string people along by making promises you have no intention of keeping. That’s just hurtful and cruel. Make it a point today to be honest. Thank them for the number, but tell them you’re not interested at this time. Be up front before shoving them to the back.

AQUARIUS (JAN. 20 - FEB. 18)

VIRGO (AUG. 23 - SEP. 22)

You love hearing stories from the past, and your older relatives are a goldmine. Through their tales, you can learn things about them that you never knew, and it helps you appreciate them more. Let them talk today, and soak up their every word. You’ll see that at one point in their lives, they were just like you, but with simpler lives, and goals removed from our challenging technological times.

You’ve a taste for foreign cultures today, but your bank account will keep you close to home. Even somewhere as familiar as home can still offer some foreign intrigue, and it won’t be hard to find. Wine and cheese from Italy can be had at your local grocer, and delicious Thai take out is everywhere. Use your imagination, and you can go around the world in a day. You won’t even need a passport!

PISCES (FEB. 19 - MAR. 20) You’ve marinated chicken breast in red wine and soy sauce, and the grill is just about ready. Let’s see, how about some garlic mashed potatoes, kale, scallion and mushrooms sauteed in olive oil and a nice salad with arugula and mixed veggies. You’ve got some soft music on, and a nice bottle of cabernet. Everything’s ready, and it’s time to eat. Alone. In front of the TV.

LIBRA (SEP. 23 - OCT. 22) Too much overindulgence is finally catching up with you. Emotional problems may have you eating for comfort, and it was cheering you up until you got on the scale. Worse still, you’re finding it hard to stop. Getting to the root of what’s bothering you could be a way to stop the madness. Figure it out, or hire a professional. It could always be worse. You could be smoking instead of eating.

ARIES (MAR. 21 - APR. 19)

SCORPIO (OCT. 23 - NOV. 21)

He’s thrown down a number of gauntlets, but you’ve overcome all the obstacles. He’s locked all the doors, but you found the keys. He tried driving away in the car, but you’ve siphoned all the gas. By now he should be getting the picture that you’ve got your sights set on him, and he can’t escape. Try some gentle persuasion today. It’ll work better than the battering ram.

Today will be all about flexibility. Keeping your sanity in your relationship will call for compromises today. You like things done your way, and that’s not good for everyone, especially those who have to be around you every day. You have to admit you can be demanding, so be flexible today, and let your partner have a say. Relationships are better when everyone feels equal.

WHAT happened was . . . By Mikkel Hyldebrandt

Trouble in the love department? With sex? Or just people in general? Send us your queries, questions, and problems, and you’ll get answers served straight up and with a little ice.

Me and my boyfriend are monogamous, but recently I downloaded and created a profile on one of the hook-up apps. It’s all in good fun, and I’ve only chatted and exchanged photos with other guys, but my boyfriend noticed my extra time on my phone and saw a few notifications from the app. He got very upset with me and accused me of cheating, but I’m trying to convince him that it’s just for fun and a little mindless fantasy. I have no intention of hooking up with anyone, and my profile says that I am in a relationship. How do I convince that I’m not doing something wrong?

Sincerely Innocently Appy Dear Innocently Appy This problem has been recurring on this page. Who’s right? Is one of you wrong? The answer is both of you! It really all depends on the boundaries and terms of your union. For some, in a committed relationship, being in touch with other guys on apps is totally ok. For others, the same is a deal breaker. Obviously, you represent two sides of that spectrum, so take this opportunity to have an honest conversation about the boundaries of your relationship. Maybe you can give some thought to as to why you feel the need to be on a hook-up app while in a monogamous relationship? Perhaps he can think about why he is being threatened about you being on an app? Are things going a little stale in your relationship? Maybe he’s mad that he wasn’t included in this naughty adventure of yours? Maybe the solution is to start sending dick pics to each other instead of to headless torsos online? Either way, talk it out – and then kiss and hook up!

My ex and I are best friends. It sounds like a dream scenario, right? But in reality, it is keeping me from getting a boyfriend because even though I date some really wonderful guys, we end up breaking up, 52 | 12.19.18

and the reason is pretty much consistently that they are jealous of the relationship between me and my ex, they all suspect that we are secretly in a relationship, and they are all threatened by him because he is a very good-looking guy. Yes, we do spend a lot of time together, and we are open about every detail of our lives, but we have never even hooked up once after our amicable split a little over a year ago. Everyone needs that kind of friend, right? Mine just happens to be my ex-boyfriend. Please help me keep my friend and a boyfriend too!

Sincerely Ex-BoyFriend-Zoned Dear Ex-BoyFriend-Zoned Having a best friend that you can confide in is priceless – yours just happen to be your ex-boyfriend. So what?! Except, for the reasons you mention … Yes, a deeply rooted friendship is invaluable, but it sounds like you have a problem letting other people into your life. Not because you don’t want to, but rather because your ex-now-best-friend is taking up all the space! Please, try and look at this from another person’s perspective: You are best friends with a guy who you used to date and perhaps even love. You are still involved with him albeit on an emotional level, but that makes it difficult for others to achieve that level emotional intimacy with you. And then there’s the fact that he is good-looking. Although it is shallow to compare yourself to others, it is something we all do, and this is where our insecurities can come creeping in. The fact of the matter is, most guys get insecure and anxious when faced by that perfect ex that was so good that he is still in their potential boyfriend’s life. So, here’s what you can do: you make yourself more emotionally available while considering the perspective just listed above. Or you wait for the guy who is secure enough to handle your friendship with your best friend. NEED ANSWERS? REACH OUT TO US, AND YOU WILL GET THEM! SEND YOUR BURNING QUESTIONS TO OUR EDITOR AT MIKKEL@PEACHATL.COM.
