We are all trying to adapt to this new and strange situation we are in – and that goes double for all the businesses that are doing their part to accommodate the massive changes that are happening to how we interact, live, eat, and shop. This pandemic is affecting our economy, our health, and our social lives, which is why it is so essential for us here at Peach to continue to deliver you Atlanta’s most picked-up guide to our community. We hope that the community will use Peach as their voice as things develop and new initiatives take shape. Like Alfons Dovana, who is raising funds to make medical-grade face masks for our health heroes battling for us all right now. Or how about updating your Spring look with some fashion that is both locally made and pays it forward too like ABETTERBUZZ’s new Spring collection. Or Darren Floro-Bryant, who guides you on how to self-motivate now that your fitness routine may be shifted. We are here for you, and I hope you enjoy this issue of Peach.

Local and
Design for a Need
designer stylist, Alfons
Dovana, has partnered with Grady Hospital Atlanta to make medical-grade face masks to try and gap the shortage of masks due to the spread of the coronavirus. Alfons, who has a degree in Apparel and Textiles from Kennesaw State University, decided to use his capabilities as an entrepreneur and designer to help accommodate the shortage of medicalgrade masks at Atlanta hospital. So, he partnered with Grady Hospital and is now producing hundreds of masks made out of HEPA filters, which removes 99.97% of particles, similar to the N95 mask that is in demand and sold out everywhere. And he needs your help. Because, to produce medical-grade HEPA-filtered face masks for our local hospitals, he is also creating neoprene masks that he is selling to the public to help cover costs for the HEPA masks. “Fabric masks are not enough protection for our health heroes who are on the front line fighting this virus,“ Alfons explains in a statement on Facebook, and continues “fabric masks are good enough for you and I since we should all be practicing social distancing and staying at home.”
For every neoprene mask he sells, he will be donating a HEPA-filtered mask to our local healthcare heroes on the front line. It is essential to underline that the neoprene masks are not medical grade, but they are ideal for social distancing purposes, and they are reusable and should be washed after every or other use. If you want your own neoprene mask and thereby support our local healthcare heroes, please Venmo Alfons Dovana by using the information below. The mask is $25 plus $7 shipping (no meet-ups!), and each purchase secures a medical-grade HEPA filter face mask donation to our healthcare workers. Please allow for up to one week for shipment. WHAT Neoprene white mask, $25, shipping: $7 (secures the donation of a medicalgrade HEPA filter face mask to Grady Hospital) HOW Venmo to @ Alfons-Dovana and add your mailing address in the comment section of the payment. The Spring Update Although being confined to our homes may not exactly encourage a full wardrobe makeover, you can still update your Spring look by shopping online – just focus on the items that don’t acquire a lot of complicated fitting and are easy to incorporate into your wardrobe. Like t-shirts and short-sleeve shirts!
Shop local brands or retailers that give back A lot of brands recognize the big picture of things during this crisis – and that’s worth supporting! Local brand ABETTERBUZZ is giving 15% of each order back to the Giving Kitchen that provides emergency assistance to food service workers through financial support and other resources. abetterbuzzbrandgoods.com
Shop local stores or brands that give you a discount In order to switch business over to online shops, many retailers are offering great incentives on online orders right now – like Boy Next Door Menswear, who is currently offering 25% off the entire online store with the discount code SUPPORT. boynextdoormenswear.com
The T-Shirt Edit A t-shirt is perhaps the most versatile clothing item there is, and it’s an easy and often inexpensive way to update your Spring look with a pop of color or even a statement. 1-ABETTERBUZZ Bless Your Heart T-Shirt, $28 – available at abetterbuzzbrandgoods.com 2-French Connection FCUK It I’m Done T-Shirt, $38 3-Silber Fucks NYC Superbär Tee, $29 4-Zara The Mandalorian © Disney T-Shirt, $29.90

How do you stay active when gyms, fitness studios, and group fitness facilities are closed? And social distancing is now what we have to factor into our fitness lifestyles/plans? Don’t Quarantine Your Fashions
Recently, I met up a friend of mine at a soon-to-be closed mall to get our sales shopping on. I was blown away by all the low prices, but disappointed by the lack of options. It reminded me of the golden years of mallshopping fashions. You could get anything from a bra to a full ski suit with boots and skis! With Spring upon us, it’s important to update our wardrobes, but how when there’s such limited selections available? And also, the whole quarantine thing. I got onto a group video chat to get some inspiration for updating my fashions this season! Follow Mitzi @itsmitzip On my screen’s lower-left corner was my good friend, part-time personal shopper and full-time alcoholic, Lizzie Cordon. Lizzie is a pro when it comes to sniffing out sales (amongst sniffing other things). Lizzie says online shopping is at an all-time high, but just because you’re getting something off the internet, doesn’t mean someone’s dirty hands haven’t touched it. She advises to look into your closets, and tear up half of your wardrobe. Make your clothes into shorter, sexier, warm-weather-friendly fashions. For added flair, tear holes into your shirts and stain your pants to give the “post-apocalyptic” look everyone is talking about these days. You’ll look like a Walking Dead supermodel! A former employee of mine that was fired due to not accepting my sexual advances, Jared from SoCal, joined in our video chat to weigh in his opinion. Jared is a free spirit and believes he shouldn’t be confined into quarantine as he doesn’t know anyone old or potentially at risk, so he’s fine. He feels we should keep supporting local businesses and go out to the nearest clothing boutique and splurge. If being unemployed has you feeling down, Jared recommends doing what he did: ask his Washington D.C. politician father for a hardship allowance. “The amount of money varies from person to person, but like, you know, ten G’s should hold you off for like a few weeks.” – Jared mentions, inspiring all those around him to call their parents for money. No group chat would be complete without my opinionated last year’s fling, Nancy Pantone-Rosacea. Fresh from her latest marriage, and ready to throw out her cheating-bastard husband’s clothing, she got creative! Nancy took the clothes to her local retailers, and demanded a refund, or exchange without showing a receipt. Fearing she would want to speak to their managers, the associates gave her gift cards, which she used to purchase brand new clothes. This is a great option for the thrill-seekers who aren’t afraid to stand less than six feet away from people and commit general crimes as well. This Spring, don’t let the quarantine and potential oncoming apocalypse keep you from looking your freshest. Use these amazing tips to renew your looks, and renew your life!
Yours in not quarantining fashion,

I’m not always a bitch! Just kidding, go f**k yourself…
Daddy Joke Alert I had a dream that I was a muffler last night. I woke up exhausted!
I used to spin the toilet paper like I was on Wheel of Fortune. Now, I turn it like I’m cracking a safe.

VIRGO (AUG. 23 - SEP. 22) ‘I’m not a perfectionist, I’m picky.’ Right. Don’t be so analytical in your personal dealings today. There’s no such thing as the perfect anything. Understand that and you’ll be surprised at how far you can get.
LIBRA (SEP. 23 - OCT. 22) Sudden problems with others will force you to question once trusted relationships, and you may have trouble telling the bitches from the benign. Turn to the companionship of real friends to help you deal with the frenemies. You know who they are.
ARIES (MAR. 21 - APR. 19)
SCORPIO (OCT. 23 - NOV. 21)
You may be called on to get things started with your crew today, so put your natural leadership abilities to good use. Others will be quick to take your lead, but be careful of how you rally your troops. You’ll have better results by killing them with kindness. Be a leader, not a slave driver.
A power struggle with forces that perceive themselves stronger than you has got your quills up. Avoid the temptation to go on the attack -- that’s what they want. Keep yourself open for compromise, but don’t back down. Standing your ground will tip the outcome in your favor.
TAURUS (APR. 20 - MAY 20)
SAGITTARIUS (NOV. 22 - DEC. 21)
Your self-indulgent side may stop by today, so be the perfect host by catering to its (nearly) every whim. Get a massage, eat some chocolate, buy yourself something pretty, go on a date. If you can’t pamper yourself, whom can you pamper?
It’s a great day to focus on new projects -- creative, domestic and otherwise. Give them your all today, focusing on the minutiae that others would overlook. Your ability to map out the details now will make whatever you take on a success in the future.
GEMINI (MAY 21 - JUN. 20)
CAPRICORN (DEC. 22 - JAN. 19)
Minding your business will be a full time job today as people misuse your keen ability to listen by bombarding you with gossip, innuendo and secrets you’d rather not know. Don’t give in to your inner busybody -- keep it to yourself.
You tend to get caught up in the humdrum duties of life -- working, house chores, going to the gym. Today, shed your sense of responsibility and dive into the heady world of romance. After all, why spend time organizing your bedroom when you’re bound to mess it up tonight?
CANCER (JUN. 21 - JUL. 22)
AQUARIUS (JAN. 20 - FEB. 18)
Your domestic side will step to the fore today as thoughts turn to home and family. Give Mom a call and tell her you miss her apple pie. Or plan to entertain your other family. A dinner party, perhaps? What better way to show off your talents with marzipan!
You’re brimming with innovative ideas today, but a perception of being aloof keeps people from taking you seriously. Stick to your guns, but keep your ideas rooted in reality. Remember, some of history’s great ideas sprang from the minds of people others called eccentric, like fellow water bearers Benjamin Franklin, Louis Pasteur and Isaac Asimov.
LEO (JUL. 23 - AUG. 22)
PISCES (FEB. 19 - MAR. 20)
Things may appear very black and white today, and your famous stubborn streak may prevent you from seeing the forest for the trees. Drop your headstrong impulses and think outside of the box. You’ll find it’s easier than you think.
Your quest for spiritual peace is evident today, and people will respond to your quiet yet intuitive demeanor. You will touch many people deeply, and not just with your hands. But don’t travel that inner journey alone. A candlelit dinner with someone you feel close to will really bring out your inner beauty.

A friend recently passed away suddenly, and his partner of many years has asked me to the funeral, and I don’t know if I can go. Not because I don’t want to go, but because I may reveal just how much I am grieving this loss. The truth is, the deceased and I had a secret affair for many years, and he is indeed one of my life’s true loves. The relationship ended years ago, but I feel devastated, and I don’t know if I’ll be able to keep it together appropriately, so people won’t suspect our secret connection. But I also want to grieve with others as part of my healing process. No one knows about this crazy, secret love affair, and I feel like the grief is eating me alive. How do I even cope with this? Sincerely Secret Lover
Dear Secret Lover Your grieving is understandable, and if you choose to go to the funeral, you may want to get your major grieving done before the event. Seeing a therapist will help you with that. This is not minimizing your grief, but the affair is over years ago, so a good approach to your process is to also focus on the time you had together, however long or short or intense it was. It is also time for you to confide to a friend and not carry this secret around on your own, which is possibly also a reason why you experience this loss more intensely. And bring that friend to the memorial service for support, and don’t disclose the details of your connection with the deceased to anyone else present. Just tell them that you knew him a while back and that his passing hit you hard. That’s all anybody needs to know.
When I started dating my boyfriend, I told him that I prefer to have an open relationship, but that we could have a ‘grace period’ before going into it. Well, now I think it is time, and my boyfriend is suddenly saying that he is not sure if he can go through with being in an open relationship. I want to be with him and commit to him, but I also want to sleep with other people. What do I do? Sincerely Open Relations
Dear Open Relations When you go into a new relationship, you often say things that will make you look better or will make you feel closer to that person. And sometimes, those things we say end up working out fine as something we want later even though we didn’t really want it in the beginning. Or, like in your case, that thing becomes an issue that needs to be dealt with. So, what is happening here is that you have told your boyfriend that you want an open relationship at some point, and he somehow agreed to it verbally or non-verbally because it was kind of a premise for the relationship. And now, he is making it clear that he is not into an open relationship. For now. You say nothing about how long you have been together, but it doesn’t seem like a long time, so start by giving him some more time. If this is a radical idea to him, he may still be processing that thing you said about having an open relationship at the very beginning of the relationship. You need to respect that if you want to be with him, but you can also engage in conversations with him about what he feels about opening up the relationship, and why he is hesitant. Once you build that trust, he may open up to the idea. And if he doesn’t, you need to decide if he really is the one for you.
