One afternoon, we chose to take some of the world’s longest undersea tunnels out to Godøy Island to catch some beautiful views and great trails. Situated outside of Ålesund, Godøy Island is known for its beautiful nature and mesmerizing panoramic views of the Northern Sea. Once out there, we found what must be some of the most scenic trails anywhere. Almost unreal. We can’t decide whether to stop and just stare or continue running so we don’t miss out on what lies ahead. Someone once said that trail running should be a celebration of the land upon which we choose to run. We find ourselves celebrating with every step and continue going further than we had originally planned. When the sun starts to set, we realize it ’s time to head back to the car. High on nature and with lungs filled with fresh salty air, we return.

at least one peak by foot. The forecast for the upcoming days looked kind of cloudy, but there was still hope for some clear skies the next day. We headed off early and walked through a vast valley of streams and boulder-sized rocks before approaching the foot of Geithornet. The skies started to clear and we started the ascent not knowing what to expect when we reached the top. A while later, we stood there in complete silence looking out over the Hjørund Fjord, mesmerized and with goose bumps all over. If beauty was a moment, this was it.

“I feel like a maniac with a camera after only 20 minutes in the areas surrounding Ålesund. I’ve taken so many pictures that my phone and camera are nearly full already. We are in Norway on this amazing road trip and we’ve just spent a few hours biking a few trails around Stranda. The landscape that surrounds us is just like a fairytale and has some kind of calming effect on all of us. The trails that we’re on are old trekking and cow trails, so some parts are just too steep to climb. Some great (and exhausting) hike-a-biking is the only option. A little while later, when we get to drop down onto amazing, flowing trails, we realize that it was totally worth every drop of sweat on the way up. It ’s such an amazing feeling to stand on top of a peak, take in the

As we pass through this amazing part of western Norway, we realize that the particular road we are on doesn’t only take us to where we want to go; it also introduces us to an unexpected harmony created between contemporary architecture and the breathtaking ancient nature that surrounds it. Never have viewpoints been as interesting to look at as the actual view. On our way, we spend a few nights at Juvet landscape hotel. Embedded in nature on a river bank amongst birch and pine trees, lies this unique hotel with detached guestroom cabins. Its massive glass walls draw the spectacular outside in, forcing you to interact with nature in the most intimate way. A true experience.

In 1995, a Swedish team sponsored by Peak Performance participated for the first time in the world’s biggest multisport competition, Raid Gauloises in Argentina.
