Cold Pressed – Cold Extracted Oils - At Himalaya, we use only the

highest grade of cold-pressed oils in our products derived by cold extraction. Through a process called malaxation, we slowly churn milled seeds/fruits/nuts in a specially designed mixer for 20 to 40 minutes. This churning allows the smaller droplets of oil released by the milling process to aggregate and separate more easily. This is followed by a laborious extraction process that is crucial due to its effects on oil quality. Although this manual process is time consuming, its outcome is an excellent product. The benefits from this process are preservation of potent anti-aging compounds, rich nutrients and moisturizing factors.

Antioxidants - Substances that counter the destructive effects of free radicals in the body, which are a major cause of aging. Antioxidants help prevent tissue cellular damage by stabilizing free oxygen molecules and are used in natural preservative systems to prevent the oxidation of fats and oils. Some natural antioxidants used are Vitamin E and Green Tea. Emollients - Oils and other ingredients that soften and smooth the skin and reduce dryness, roughness and irritation. In hair care products, they restore lost moisture to hair fiber, contributing to shine and strength. Emulsifiers - Substances used to help oil and water bind together and stay in suspension. Humectants - Promote water retention in hair and skin care products by attracting and binding water to themselves. Vegetable glycerin is a humectant made from combining water and vegetable oil. Soliga Forest Honey is also used as a light humectant and nutrient used as a thickening agent to give body to facial masks, creams and lotions. Hydrators - Supply water to the hair and skin. Hydrating Face Wash - Normal to Dry Skin that lacks hydration. Neem & Turmeric Face Wash - Normal to Oily Skin Types including problematic skin. Helps lift skin impurities. Invigorating Face Wash - Normal to Combination Skin Type, but can be used on dry skin as well.

How often should one use the scrub?

Once a week is ideal. Twice a week if intense exfoliation is required.

What have we done to ensure the scrub is not damaging and the â&#x20AC;&#x2DC;textureâ&#x20AC;&#x2122; is just right? The two gentle scrub materials selected are apricot and walnut. We refine the particle size to get the desired results. The product is also formulated with ingredients that moisturize while the scrub gently exfoliates.

Cleansing Bars Are there any skin type considerations when deciding which cleansing bar to use?

The cleansing bars are formulated with a blend of saponified Organic Coconut and Organic Palm Fruit Oil, enriched with Organic Cocoa Butter, Organic herbs and essential oils. The soap with its luxurious lather is suitable for all skin types. In case of excessively dry skin, it is advisable to use a light moisturizer after cleansing such as our Revitalizing Hand & Body Lotion.

Can the cleansing bars be used for shaving? If so, is one better than the other? Yes, both the cleansing bars are suitable for shaving.

Would it be possible to have a detailed process describing how the cleansing bars are made?

Soaps are made by a process called saponification. A blend of organic vegetable oils are saponified, maintaining the temperature around 35 degrees celsius. During the saponification process, the contents are hand mixed for about 45 minutes. At the end stage of saponification, essential oils and organic herbal actives are added, mixed and poured into wooden trays and allowed to mature for about 48 hours. After maturation, the blocks are hand cut and packed. A certain amount of organic vegetable oils are left unsaponified in the soap which leaves the skin moisturized after bathing. FAQs

Shampoos Are the shampoos suitable for color-treated or highlighted hair? Yes, the shampoos are suitable for color-treated and highlighted hair.

Are the shampoos/conditioners pH balanced?

pH balance is a vague term used in personal care products. pH 7 is neutral. Less than pH 7 is acidic and more than pH 7 is alkaline. The pH of skin and scalp pH is approximately 4.5 to 6; our shampoo and conditioners are approximately this pH as well, and therefore skin and scalp friendly.

Which shampoo is best for frizzy or curly hair?

Hydrating Shampoo is the most desirable for frizzy and curly hair. It hydrates and moisturizes the hair, thus increasing its manageability.

Do any of the shampoos act as a clarifier?

The shampoos in our hair care range are not specifically formulated to act as clarifiers. However, they all clear the residue left by other hair products like hair oils, styling gels, hair sprays, etc. They do not deposit any oily residue or silicones, unlike other chemicalâ&#x20AC;&#x201C;based shampoos.

Are they all noncomedogenic?

Yes, noncomedogenic (non pore-clogging) ingredients are used in our creams and lotions.

What makes the FootCare Cream specifically for feet? Can it be used on other parts of the body, including the face?

FootCare cream is a heavier cream that provides intense moisturization to the feet, making them feel soft and smooth. Your feet bear the entire weight of your body and are exposed to environmental elements. This, along with lack of moisture, may lead to dry, brittle and cracked heels. Intensive Moisturizing FootCare Cream addresses this condition and can be used on other parts of the body except the face.

Are the Products safe to use on children? All our products are safe and gentle for your child and infantâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s delicate skin. We do not recommend Exfoliating Walnut & Wood Apple Face Scrub for children under the age of 13 years.
