TOWARDS 2020 Pedare Christian College Strategic Direction

Introduction Pedare Christian College is a coeducational Anglican and Uniting Church school established in 1986 in what was then the brand new development of Golden Grove. For 30 years Pedare has provided a Christian and liberal education for students of the region. Pedare has developed a very strong reputation of providing students with high academic expectations and our graduates find great success at school and beyond as they transition to tertiary and work pathways. Students are encouraged to strive for academic success and to pursue their gifts and talents in the many extra curricular opportunities available. One of the most rewarding aspects of Pedare at this time is that we are now educating many children of the first Pedare students who are now Old Scholars. As parents they too are seeking the same values based education their parents chose for them. We remain committed to the development of the whole student intellectually, physically, and spiritually. Pedare students develop a sense of self worth and we strongly encourage them to serve their community and the world. Our new Strategic Plan builds on the previous five years of hard work to advance our vision and purpose. An independent educational consultancy firm was engaged to conduct the strategic review, focus groups and to develop the key strategies and action plan. The College Board and Senior Leadership then worked with the consultant to develop five priorities for our growth Towards 2020 mapping a new and exciting direction for Pedare.

We remain guided by our vision, purpose and Christian values as we take the College forward in a culture of sustained achievement. Together we are committed to building on the many accomplishments of the first 30 years. The plan provides an opportunity to develop a One College approach to student development, educational philosophy and in the provision of facilities for future learning. In all this it is important to build on the culture of excellence in learning at Pedare. We are proud and excited by the Strategic Plan “Towards 2020 as we grow young people who can make a difference in our global community. We acknowledge the generous contribution of parents, staff, students, Old Scholars and members of the wider community in the development of our new Strategic Plan.
