Foreword Welcome to Capture Memphis, the sequel, an engaging collection of photographs that represent a wide variety of life in our region. The inaugural edition of Capture Memphis – published in 2008 – made such a significant impression, we began making plans to produce the follow-up book you are now holding. The grassroots process that puts the submission and selection of photographs in the hands of the public provides a gallery of images that “capture” the spirit and culture of Greater Memphis in a unique way. For the 2010 edition of Capture Memphis, more than 17,000 photographs were submitted and more than 700,000 votes were cast. We’re proud to publish the most popular of those photographs in this historic collection for your enjoyment.

Sincerely, Joseph Pepe President and Publisher CA Media/The Commercial Appeal
