Born in 1989 in SantarĂŠm, Portugal, a kid eager to improve the world around him trough his drawings. The piece of paper always played an important role as a means to materialize thoughts and ideas. Always willing to learn and know more, at age 17, joined a foreign exchange student program in an american High school, where a future in design became more clear. Studied Interior Architecture in order to have a broader education between architecture and other design fields. During the master degree, wile on Erasums in Belgium, the first experiences with interior and furniture design left a lasting impact. CONTENTS The projects in this document are arranged in an order that shows an evolution of architectural thought regarding space and scale. Here are shown design aproaches from the smallest to the largest scale, each created taking in consideration the specific purpose of its space. These are hopefully the starting point for deeper, better and more complete answers for the challenges to come, furthering my experience in interior architecture and design.

MAN CAVE

MAN CAVE This is a prototype for an architectural piece, where a human being can inhabit, with all the necessary amenities for everyday life. The challenge was to design it within a
3mx3mx3m limit to make it as easy to transport as possible. With the intention to provide more living space, whilst still respecting the rules regarding dimensions
for transportation, this toy-like design came to light. The idea is to keep everything tightly arranged within the bigger cube for when it is open, interstitial spaces are formed to allow
the inhabitant a confortable navigation between the different spaces. This is a perfect room for someone to isolate during a creative process, like a writer when writing a new piece.

FERMME PÉDAGOGIQUE
2
FERMME PÉDAGOGIQUE The goal of this project is the refurbishment of a degraded farmhouse in the outskirts of Brussels. The purpose of the building, however, changed. It was turn
into a pedagogic farm, a community centre focused on getting city children into direct contact with nature, to understand where the produce comes from
and what can they do with it. The building serves as a portal between the agricultural lands behind it and the city in front of it.

URBAN CHALLENGES

URBAN CHALLENGES Food To(-)Gather is a project, generator of dinamics based on the very rich gastronomical history surrounding the “Vale do Ave” area, specifically, the city of Guimarães, birth
place to the portuguese nation. The site was an abandoned factory located at walking distance from the historical city center and the open space structure was ideal to host
such a complex program. The space was turn into a gastronomical creative hub with facilities designed for education, production and sale of alimentary goods, linked harmoniously
to create a pleasent and educational tour through the complex which maintains that industrial feeling, thus creating a fusion between past and present.

CHAPUCHOS

CHAPUCHOS The old Santo AntĂłnio dos Capuchos Hospital building, in Lisbon, is here used as a model for urban regeneration with a strategy based on criterious demolitions and afterwards on the remaining pre-existing
building’s maintenance and rehabilitation, a hybrid program was applied here, aiming to create a wide variety of amenities so as to improve and complement Colina de Santana inhabitants’ daily life. The facilities comprehend
the introduction of temporary residency, work and leisure spaces. This way we are able to work on the urban center densification, not only through the built aggregate but also through the conception and re-arrangement
of the outdoor green areas. By creating a new sense of opening of this city area, new population fluxes can be created and, ultimately, lead to the Colina’s urban regeneration.
