Trash Service Change

Effective January 1, 2012, we will be changing trash services to Royal Disposable and Recycle. The HOA selected Royal Disposable because of their economical bid and favorable references from other communities. The cost per household for 2 days of pick-up per week (Wednesday and Saturday with Saturday being bulk pick up day) will be $11.77 monthly or $35.31 per quarter. Residences will be billed quarterly. Our current contract is $15.77 per month therefore residents will be saving $4 per month! Royal Disposal does not require stickers either. All other restrictions remain the same as before regarding weights and sizes of items collected as shown below. SCOPE OF SERVICE: 1. Scheduled service days shall be twice weekly on Wednesday and Saturday. Contractor shall provide curbside trash collection of up to eight (8) items of properly packaged residential household waste. Household waste should be packaged in containers such as sturdy plastic garbage bags, standard-sized plastic trash cans which are designed for residential garbage containers. Branches, tree trimmings and other similar yard waste will be restricted to diameters of no more than three inches and are required to be cut in lengths not to exceed four feet and securely tied in bundles and placed at the curb. Containers, bags and bundles shall not weigh more than 40 pounds each. Bulk items and white goods such as small pieces of furniture, refrigerators (tagged saying Freon removed), washers, dryers, and water heaters will be collected at the curb on the second regularly scheduled service day of the week with a limit of one item per home per week. Moving boxes must be broken down (flattened) and bundled and placed at the curb. 2. Federal Clean Air Act bulk items containing CFC refrigerant (Freon) such as refrigerators, freezers, etc., will not be collected for disposal without appropriate residential certification that all Freon has been properly removed and recycled. 3. All permanent garbage containers, once emptied by Contractor, will be returned to their point of origin. Contractor’s employees will not abuse containers and lids, normal wear and tear excepted. 4.Contractor’s employees will clean up all spillage of garbage or rubbish which they may generate during the normal performance of their duties. 5. Collection of recreation area waste and waste from common area trash receptacles will be performed by Contractor. Such collection will be done at no additional charge to the association and on the same collection days as residential waste collection is performed. EXCLUSIONS: Contractor shall not collect or dispose of hazardous, toxic or radioactive wastes or substances as currently, or in the future, defined as such by applicable Federal, State, or Local laws or regulation. By the terms of this agreement, Contractor shall be responsible for the collection and disposal of residential solid waste, garbage, refuse, trash and rubbish and shall not collect or dispose of certain items, including, but not limited to, human or animal waste, hazardous or toxic waste, auto parts, rocks, concrete, sand, gravel, dirt, petroleum products or filters therefore, carpeting, construction materials and debris, or large pieces of glass. Lakewood Grove Operation Christmas Chid

Epiphany Lutheran Church and School is giving thanks for the chance to play an important role in providing needy children with a simple gift this Christmas season. Last year was Epiphany's first time participating in Operation Christmas Child, a ministry devoted to providing needy children shoe boxes full of toys, hygiene items, school supplies, candy, etc. The congregation collected over 80 boxes to send overseas. "We were strongly moved by this particular ministry" commented one member. The church members felt that the increased visibility of the new location this year made it a prime spot to become a "drop-off" location for OCC. This means that during "Collection Week" (Nov. 14th-21st) they will be accepting shoe box donations from the general public. "We are so excited to serve our community in this way. What a wonderful beginning to the Christmas season." remarks Lauren Thom, an Epiphany Member and OCC volunteer. For more information about Operation Christmas Child and where you can donate your items go to http://www. samaritanspurse.org/index.php/OCC/.
