Presidents MESSAGE

The Fall Festival was a great success due to the nice weather and some hard work by Board members Messrs. Dick Leonard, Cullen Thomas & Ms.Kristi Hendrickson. We had a pretty good attendance and lots of kids of all ages enjoyed the fun and food. We owe a huge debt of gratitude to HEB for really stepping up to the plate, literally, to provide lots of hot dogs, buns, condiments, chips, sodas, water and cutlery/plates. This really made it go with a swing. Add to that “Master Chef “Cullen Thomas with his gas grill turning out hot sausages for the hotdogs and we were really “cooking”. Thanks to homeowner Jeff Cook, of the City of Houston FD, we were fortunate to have a visit from the Ponderosa VFD complete with fire truck for all to inspect and listen to. At the end of their visit we witnessed the fire truck responding to a call with lights and sirens blazing as it took off down Stone Forest Drive. We thank them for their time and for being patient with all our questions from children and adults alike. Thank you to all those homeowners who visited us and joined in the fun and fellowship for which this event was put on. A nice afternoon all round. As was mentioned last month we have appointed a replacement for Lesley Hollenberg who had resigned due to family reasons and at the Board Meeting last month we confirmed Tod Bisch as a Stone Forest Board member to serve out the remaining term. We can confirm that we have adopted a budget for 2012 and were able to avoid any increase in assessments. We hope that the delinquencies will begin to decline over the next 12 months. Please continue to be frugal with watering as per the Bridgestone MUD guidelines as it now looks like we are going to have yet another year of low rainfall. It is noticeable that some homeowners are ignoring the rationing of yard watering and we ask that they follow the Bridgestone requirements. Grass only needs watering once every two weeks this time of the year because it is not growing and watering should be stopped altogether at the first frost and not continued until the weather warms up. Again, consult your own lawn specialist to suit individual requirements. The Board has adopted these recommendations for the common areas in Stone Forest. Finally the Board wishes each and very one of the homeowners and their families a safe and Happy Christmas and a New Year full of promise and better times. Sincerely, Bob Wise President, Stone Forest HOA. Copyright © 2011 Peel, Inc.
