TWIN CREEKS HOA WATERING

There have been several inquiries and emails regarding the watering schedule of the HOA that should be addressed. As you may or may not know, the HOA shares water with the golf course, which has a contract with both the LCRA and the City of Cedar Park. The LCRA supplies water volume and the City supplies the infrastructure that conveys the water to a holding pond on the golf course. From there the water is pumped from the holding pond through a network of lines on the golf course. The HOA has a connection to this system at two points, one being in front of the club house and the other just south of the traffic circle at Dervingham/Ebbsfleet. This system is less than desirable since it does not have consistent water pressure. When the golf course is watering the, the HOA has little or no water pressure. The lack of pressure has required the HOA to water during the day when the golf course is normally not watering. This has presented an image of non-responsibility on the part of the HOA, who is merely a victim of circumstances and trying to protect the huge investment of landscaping along Twin Creeks Club Drive and several other common areas throughout the community. The HOA realizes the community residents concern and has taken action to reduce not only the amount of watering, but also the times of watering. The HOA recently met with the golf course, the LCRA and the City and have come up with an interim plan that is now implemented and will continue at least through the month of February, 2012. This newly implemented schedule will provide two watering times for the HOA, which will be between 7:00 am and 10:00 am, and 7:00 pm and 10:00 pm, and complies with the restrictions imposed by the City and the LCRA. The golf course will be watering between 7:00 pm and 7:00am. During this interim period of time the HOA will be exploring other opportunities to either become independent of the golf course water system or revise the system so that watering can be done by both parties at night. To name some of the possibilities, the HOA will explore drilling a well and constructing a water storage and pressure plant, revising the existing system with an additional supply line and pump, and connecting to the City’s water system. All of these possibilities will be costly to the HOA, but we realize the necessity to reduce or eliminate the watering during the day time, especially during these severe drought times. This item will be a topic of discussion at the upcoming annual meeting after the first of the year. On behalf of TC Twin Creeks Community, Inc. Sincerely yours, Tom Moody, President Copyright © 2011 Peel, Inc.

Winter Wonderland Join your Twin Creeks friends and neighbors for our annual Winter Wonderland. On Friday, December 16th from 6-8:30 pm. We will have a sleigh-full of Christmas inspired activities such as face painting and balloon twisting elves, decorative and edible crafts, an inflatable slide almost as high up as the North Pole itself, holiday choo-choo train, Karaoke caroling, instantly developed photos of the family and the festivities, and of course a special visit by Santa Claus. There will be a tempting buffet featuring many seasonal favorites befitting Santa himself, an enchanting cupcake bar, and Christmas cheer for the adults. The fun starts at 6 pm and goes until 8:30 in order to give the guests of honor time to get back to feed the reindeer. It’s going to be a Ho Ho Ho lot of fun! COMMUNITY COMMITTEES In order for the Twin Creeks Home Owners’ Association to provide the best service to our community, several committees have been established to allow the participation of residents to help build the best neighborhood possible. Listed below are the five core committees necessary to achieve this goal.

Social & Recreation Committee

The Social & Recreation Committee helps plan neighborhood events, such as biannual garage sales, holiday parties, and National Night Out, as well as combined events with Twin Creeks Country Club.

Maintenance Committee

The Maintenance Committee monitors the general condition of the neighborhood and helps identify areas in need of repair or improvement, such as the irrigation system, street lights, or other common property.

Yard of the Month Committee

The Yard of the Month Committee judges our yards and then selects a different yard each month that exemplifies the orderly and well-maintained look we expect to find in our neighborhood.

Communication Committee

The Communication Committee helps organize articles for the newsletter and other neighborhood communications, and assists in the establishment of a neighborhood website, news group and email distribution list.

Neighborhood Watch Committee

The Neighborhood Watch Committee works with the local law enforcement office to establish and maintain a neighborhood watch group to help keep the community safe and secure. This committee depends upon neighbors to become involved by looking out for one another and by knowing what course of action to take if there should be a problem. Volunteers from every neighborhood within our community are needed. Contact Terra Tisdale at terra@tisdale.com or Anne Wilson at annecw1@ aol.com to volunteer.
