SHADOW CREEK YOUTH FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION

The Shadow Creek Youth Football Association is a nonprofit youth football and cheer organization. We offer competitive flag and tackle football to the Shadow Creek Ranch Community and the surrounding west Pearland area. We are the home of the Shadow Creek Titans. Our youth football and cheer program was established to allow the participation of youth ages 5-12 years old, in a fun family-oriented environment. The Shadow Creek Titans main objective is to teach all of our youth good sportsmanship, teamwork, superior work ethic, and good character on and off the field.

OUR MISSION

The Shadow Creek Youth Football Association mission is to help boys and girls become men and women of empathy and integrity, who will lead, be responsible, and change the world for good. We are committed to creating an environment that will not only showcase your child’s athletic talents, they will also be able to develop goals, build character, and learn individual/team skills, which are all important attributes needed to excel in LIFE. Fundraising is nearing the End Zone as seniors and parents are looking forward to their Graduation Day, July 1. Seniors and Juniors had fun participating in the Powder Puff Games, a fundraising event where the girls played flag football and the boys dressed as cheerleaders and did a wonderful job leading the cheers and helping the crowd root for the players. Project Graduations purpose is to provide a safe, fun, monitored event for graduating seniors following the graduation ceremony. WHO WILL BE THE NEXT MR. MAVERICK ? Ticket sales start April 11th The pageant, silent auction and spaghetti dinner is scheduled for April 28th at 6pm where 20 senior guys and their escorts ‘strut their stuff’ in casual wear, swimsuit and formal dress wear. SHADOW CREEK RANCH Don’t Mess With Texas TRASH OFF Join Keep Pearland Beautiful, Scout Troops, school groups, church groups, civic, families, organizations, and businesses from all over Pearland for the annual Don’t Mess With Texas Trash-Off on Saturday, April 14, 2012. We will meet at the Pearland Community Center, 3523 Liberty Dr., starting at 7:30 a.m. for breakfast and assignments. Keep Pearland Beautiful will supply bags and gloves for the cleanup and will send a crew out to pick up the bags of trash. There will be prizes for all volunteers and four cash prizes will be awarded. There will be a random drawing from wrap-up reports submitted on time, a prize for the group submitting the most original clean-up photo of their group, a prize to the group collecting the most cigarette butts that day(must be verified with a photo) and a prize to the group picking up the most unusual piece of litter. The Trash-Off is a part of a state-wide cleanup sponsored by Keep Texas Beautiful and the Texas Department of Transportation. It is also the signature event in Pearland for Keep America Beautiful’s Great American Cleanup, which runs from March through May and is considered the largest grassroots cleanup and community improvement event in the world. Composting Demonstration & Bin Sale Keep Pearland Beautiful will host a composting demonstration on April 14, 2012 at the Pearland Community Center, located at 3523 Liberty Dr. The demonstration will take place at 11 a.m. on that Saturday. KPB staff will demonstrate and distribute literature on the do’s and don’ts of backyard composting. Available to City of Pearland utility customers the C.E. Shepherd Co. compost bins may be purchased for $35 (please provide water bill as proof of residency). SHADOW CREEK RANCH The Shadow Creek Ranch Texas Hold’em Poker Club Meets the second Saturday of each month at 7pm. We are a casual group, friendly, and beginners are always welcome. We usually have between twenty to thirty participants, and the host house changes from month to month. Because of size contraints, you must live in Shadow Creek Ranch to participate. The buy-in is $10 per game, and all monies are paid out as cash prizes to the top finishers. Points are also awarded both for knocking people from the tournament and for playing -- the higher your finish the more points accumulated. At yearend the top ten people on the points list qualify for the Top 10 Final Table. The host house provides snacks. You are welcome to bring your own beverage of choice. Environmental Fair Keep Pearland Beautiful in cooperation with four middle school environmental clubs, the Pearland Independent School District and the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) is planning the sixteenth Annual School Environmental Fair for Tuesday, April 10, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Alexander Middle School, 3001 Old Alvin in Pearland. There is no admission charge and all of the activities at this event are free to the attendees. More than 120 students will be involved in putting on this Fair and over 425 people, including a number of local dignitaries, have attended each of the last fifteen fairs. The events will include environmental exhibits, games, contests, clowns, petting zoo and refreshments. Local businesses, agencies and organizations that have an environmental message are invited to have a booth at the Fair, which targets elementary-age children and their families.
