TNW POA MEETING TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 12TH 4:30 PM AT CLUBHOUSE ALL RESIDENTS ENCOURAGED TO ATTEND. RESIDENT INPUT 6:30 PM WWW.TERRANOVAWEST.COM • WWW.CHAPARRALMANAGEMENT.COM
CONSTABLE: 281-376-3472
Report of Meeting Held Tuesday, October 8th Submitted by Sharon Natenberg
Security: The Constable reported a very quiet month for TNW. Two suspects were apprehended and arrested after a burglary on Moss Point. A Silver Nissan/Altima 4 door was parked unattended on Moss Point and was hit by the vehicle of an unknown suspect who failed to stop. No leads at this time. No other incidents reported. Miles driven patrolling our neighborhood during September numbered 1626, and 119 tickets were issued. Clubhouse: There were seven rentals. We thank Elio and Maria Carra for creating, building, and managing the Haunted House at our clubhouse. TNW and the Carra family financed the Haunted House for the benefit of our neighborhood. We thank the Klein Collins Orchestra for working at the Haunted House. Architectural Review and Deed Restrictions: Eight (8) more ARC requests were submitted. We thank these neighbors who are following our deed restrictions and working to keep their homes as an asset for the homeowner and for TNW. If you have received a letter from Chaparral, note that they have been contracted by TNW to survey the neighborhood and alert homeowners if their homes/yards need improvements as stated in our deed restrictions. November 2013 Volume 6, Issue 11
Please call Chaparral or any Board Member if you have any questions on a letter you might have received. Management: Decking at the entrance to the pool will be replaced with Trex, a manufactured product known for its beauty and long-lasting qualities. The Board will be analyzing and creating a budget for 2014 under the leadership of our treasurer Peter Vogel and Chaparral Management. Fortunately, for next year, the pool slide has been repaired. Chaparral is providing a free E-Waste Recycling/Paper Shredding event to be held on their parking lot at 6630 Cypresswood Drive on Saturday, November 2, from 9:00 am until 12:30 pm. Because TNW is not guaranteed to receive our newsletters until the 10th of each month as agreed to in our contract with Peel, we hope you were able to take advantage of this service. We mentioned bicycle safety in our last newsletter. The whole list of Texas Bicycle Laws can be found at http://www.biketexas. org . These laws include: operating your bike as you would a car, drive in the same direction as traffic, giving hand signals from the left, and having a white light on the front and a red reflector on the rear for riding at night. A good neighbor in TNW reminds us all that we need to be alert of how we are using our precious Texas water. This includes being sure sprinklers are not set to automatically work even if we have had sufficient rain. Sprinkler heads need to be in good repair. Be aware of how long you are running the sprinklers. Very damp lawns at this season of cooling weather are in danger of fungus. Our neighborhood common areas are managed by D.W. Miller Maintenance who diligently maintains and repairs our TNW sprinkler system. Happy Thanksgiving Day to All! Whispering Pines - November 2013
