News and Notes from the Board June Board Meeting Summaries - June 18, 2015/ June 23rd, 2015 • The board reviewed and approved minutes and accepted financials for May 2015 (visit GLE website for recent minutes and financials at www.glepoa.com - Documents - 2015 Minutes and Financials). • The board extensively reviewed Connie Lane drainage plans, bids, quotes and proposals on June 18th. The board discussed several limitations to some proposals, including the LDC gas line and water line buried in the draining areas which are limiting factors impacting cost and delaying the project. Suitable solutions were proposed and costs reviewed to minimize expense and address these limitations. For detailed information about the project please see a summary of the Homeowner Information Meeting of July 14th posted to the website at www.glepoa.com. • The board adopted on June 23rd a work-plan of three phases to be communicated fully at a homeowner informational meeting on Tuesday, July 14th. • Board voted to take out a maintenance contract with All-Gates to have more reliable and preventive gate services and see if this will keep gates working more consistently. Back gate repairs were quoted and Frazier Lawn Services will be asked to reimburse for this repair. • Board selected Spectrum Association Management to be GLE's new management company effective 8/1/2015 after interviewing 6 management companies. • Easement and replatting agreement with Todd Wilkinson to receive 45 foot greenbelt of Reserve 4B in exchange for a 30 foot driveway taken out of Reserve 3A was accepted. Provisions to replat both parcels as residential use were included to allow POA to redeem costs expended in purchasing the land the front gates occupy and to permanently cut off access to Honea Egypt through Construction Entrance on Reserve 4B. Attorney and survey work to complete replat within next 3 months to follow. • Board announced its intent to adopt a resolution in the next month prohibiting ATV/UTV usage on GLE streets. • Election of 2 board vacancies was announced for September annual Copyright © 2015 Peel, Inc.

meeting and the Election Oversight Committee was formed, lead by Lonna Hord. • An update on Park improvements was given, with plans expressed to add fans, fencing, handicap access and bike racks when cost estimates are completed. • Several speakers/guests from the community expressed concerns and issues for the board's consideration in a question and answer session of approximately 35 minutes following agenda completion.

Montgomery ISD New Schools As we all know, Montgomery voters approved a $256.75 million bond for Montgomery ISD and most of the bond money will go toward the construction of three new facilities: a high school, a middle school and an elementary school. The proposed locations for the new schools are estimated to be about 8 miles from our neighborhood, Grand Lake Estates. Montgomery ISD will have fewer school transitions and grade realignment throughout the district. The new high school will be built at FM 2854, northwest of Rabon Chapel Road and will house grades 9-12. Renovations will be made to Montgomery Junior High School to serve grades 6-8. Montgomery Intermediate School and Montgomery Middle School both will make improvements to accommodate pre-kindergarten through fifth-grade students. The new middle school (6-8) and new elementary school (PK-5) will be built at Keenan Cutoff Road. Consequently, all elementary schools in the district will add the 5th grade to their campuses. Grade PK -5 6 -8 9- 12

The bond will also have great impact on the district by providing funds for renovations, additions, improvements, technology, transportation, safety and security upgrades at all campuses and administrative offices. If you are interested in learning more about the bond, visit the following website www.montgomeryisdbond.org . This website will keep the community informed about the bond construction progress with updated information, design presentations, schedule, and construction pictures. At some point, the district will produce an attendance zone map showing all the schools’ boundaries. To estimate your tax impact of this bond, go to http:// montgomeryisdbond.org/tax-information.html . You will find a box; insert your house value and exemption to calculate your MONTHLY tax increase.

Protect Yourself Avoid heavy exertion, extreme heat, sun exposure, and high humidity when possible. When these cannot be avoided, take the following preventative steps: • Monitor your physical condition and that of your coworkers for signs or symptoms of heat illnesses. • Wear light-colored, loose-fitting, breathable clothing such as cotton. • Avoid non-breathable synthetic clothing. • Gradually build up to heavy work. • Schedule heavy work during the coolest parts of day. • Take more breaks when doing heavier work, and in high heat and humidity. • Take breaks in the shade or a cool area. • Drink water frequently. Drink enough water that you never become thirsty. • Be aware that protective clothing or personal protective equipment may increase the risk of heat-related illnesses.
