1. Volunteer at a veteran's organization. The American Legion, Paralyzed
Veterans of America, Habitat for Humanity, and the Home Depot Foundation, to name a few...
2. Buy a meal for a homeless vet. While there's no way to make sure their
veteran claim is legitimate, that shouldn't matter. Buy the gentleman a sandwich and thank him for his service
3. Fly your flag for Independence Day, Memorial Day, Veteran's Day, etc. 4. Send balloons to your local recruiters office. The promises recruits swear the recruiter said are remembered forever. Send these guys a little cheer.
5. Ask a loved one for stories about their time in service–and listen patiently. Take a few minutes to listen to stories of service from someone in your extended family.
6. Put a stamp on it. Send a thank you card to people you know who has ever served in the military.
7. Look for a community event and then take the family out to join in the community fun.
8. Change your Facebook page to feature a favorite veteran—even if your vet is great, great uncle Felix who you never met who served in WWI.
9. Just say "thank you." A little recognition goes a long way. 10. Make your life worth dying for—strive to be worth the sacrifice.

WE LIVE HERE; WE LOVE IT HERE! Submitted by Stephanie Fantasia Whether people find themselves moving to the Houston area for work, school, or in pursuit of a better life, Cypress is often their first choice. Cypress offers highly-ranked schools, thriving youth and athletic programs, wellmaintained playgrounds and pools, and beautiful trails and lakes, making it the perfect place to live. Andrea Curran, team lead of the Andrea Curran Team, says, "There are no people like Cypress people. We love being a part of this community." You'll find The Andrea Curran Team all over Cypress sponsoring youth sports teams and school music programs, feeding the hardworking heroes at the local firehouse, sending appreciation gifts to teachers, supporting local small businesses with their Deep In The Heart of Cypress video series (andreacurran.com/videos), and much more. You can also find the team sponsoring various projects benefiting Cy-Hope and Cypress Lucky Mutt Rescue, two of their favorite local nonprofits. "This community means so much to us and we want to serve our neighbors, whether it's people in need or our clients," explains Andrea. Andrea Curran was born and raised in small-town Alabama on the Tennessee River, nestled in the Appalachian foothills. She loves literature and music and can never have too many horses or rescue dogs. But her greatest passion is helping people. It's that passion that made her an award-winning teacher for fifteen years and eventually even led her to become a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for children in foster care. It's also that passion that drove her to begin her real estate journey only a few short years ago. In 2016 Andrea became a licensed real estate agent and fell in love with helping her buyers and sellers so much that she decided to start her Cypress team in 2019. Only two short years later, Andrea Curran is ranked in the Top 100 realtors on HAR out of more than 40,000 agents. This year, the team won a Wall Street Journal Real Trends Award for their production, ranked among Copyright © 2021 Peel, Inc.
teams nationally. It takes a tremendous amount of hard work and dedication to climb the ranks so quickly, but they've made it look easy while giving back to the Cypress Community everywhere they can. As the housing market continues to be a hot topic, a common recurring question is who should you trust to help achieve your real estate goals? Whether you're buying or selling, doing so with the support of a top-producing team affords you extra benefits. Made up of an amazing group of talented and hardworking individuals all working together to offer clients the best real estate experience possible, The Andrea Curran Team puts client care and communication first in all things. When asked about her clients, Andrea states, "Nothing is more important to us than our clients. In all things, we center around our core values of integrity, relationship, impact, and expertise." The Andrea Curran Team takes pride in offering their clients every possible resource to succeed. Their clients can expect nothing but the best as the team is partnered with Compass Real Estate, one of the world's fastest-growing and most innovative real estate firms. Both the buying and selling experience will be met with the most technologically advanced tools and guided by the most knowledgeable agents. When choosing The Andrea Curran Team, clients can expect sophisticated marketing, professional photography, professional listing videos, aerial photography, open houses, ethical practices, clear communication, and detailed knowledge of the real estate market. The Andrea Curran Team cares about its clients and their community. They take pride in building relationships all over Cypress because not only do they love it here; they live here. They enjoy being your neighbors and know how much Cypress has to offer. Their real estate journey began here, and their team has grown here, thanks to the support of Cypress friends and neighbors. You can learn more about The Andrea Curran Team by visiting www.AndreaCurran.com. BE ON THE LOOKOUT: The Andrea Curran Team recently started a new social media campaign called Random Acts Of Cypress to continue to build up the Cypress community by spreading and sharing kindness. You can join them on Facebook at www.facebook.com/groups/randomactsofcypress. And don't miss their upcoming movie night at Lakeside Trails Park on November 12th. Free and for all ages, the movie starts at 6:30 PM. Check out The Andrea Curran Team on social media for more information and upcoming events. Lakes of Fairhaven - November 2021 3

Allow me to introduce this uber talented singer, musician, Husband and Father of 5 from Conroe, TX. He’s got a voice that’s deep and rich in tone which brings life and depth to the country songs he sings and writes. He’s kindhearted and has an appreciation for music that runs deep. By day, Nate works selling metal building systems and by night takes the stage as Nate Nelson Acoustic or Nate Nelson and the State Street Band. Nate has been traveling to Cypress to play locally since 2015 and in July of 2021 he hit a personal milestone when he opened for Jason Boland at 2920 Roadhouse and earned a well-deserved proud moment! I got to meet Nate Nelson in person for the first time when I hosted his SPOTLIGHT event with Cypress Music Scene at The Burger Ranch (located on House-Hahl Rd. in Cypress) earlier this summer. Nate and his longtime pro musician singer/songwriter friend form Iowa, Josh Sinclair were touring together so Nate, Josh and Myself got to spend the evening making musical memories!

October was breast cancer awareness month; local Cypress baseball team KTN Athletics always changed their uniform in October to raise breast cancer awareness, but this year they took cancer awareness further by honoring their loved ones who have battled any type of cancer. The name and the color of the cancer their loved ones fought or are fighting is represented on the back of their jerseys. Coach told the boys during October, when they put these jerseys on, they're playing for more than themselves. They're playing for the loved one on the back of their shirt. KTN 11U boys are two time back to back Texas State Champions. They have developed a strong brotherhood - together, they work and train very hard! Below is just a sampling of the player's comments about their jerseys. wKTN stands for 'Keep Train-N’ Copyright © 2021 Peel, Inc.

The Beacon Fairfield Republicans are a group of conservative likeminded neighbors residing in Fairfield and neighboring areas. While we are predominately residents of Fairfield and the adjoining subdivisions, we welcome people from other precincts to attend our meetings as well. Our group meets every month to provide information to our community about current legislative priorities and other pertinent information. We can be found on Facebook under the heading of Fairfield Republicans. Please check For this event, Long Way Home Texas has partnered up with the Children's Transplant Initiative as this events recipient. Check them out at CTI-TX.ORG. John Evans Band, Two Tons of Steel, Ziggy Moonshine and the Bootleggers, Dub Miller, Jesse Roach, Susan Hickman, Mandi Powell, Philip Griffin, Steven Marshall, Leo Mendoza, Jim Salter, David Grace, and Josh Norman to date. What started off as me just wanting to have a party to celebrate my 50th birthday, and still being alive after almost dying in June of 2020 from liver disease, has evolved into quite a shindig. Children's Transplant Initiative helps families of transplant patients with unforeseen costs incurred like temporar y housing, parking, meals, and so much more that are the difference in a parent being able to care for a child in they're greatest time of need. These families are forced to choose between their child, or losing everything. This will be a family friendly event and open to anyone and everyone who would like to come. Tickets will be for sale soon, along with sponsorship opportunities. To all my friends and family who have been there for me through all this, and continue to be there as I walk down my road of recovery, I want to give my sincerest gratitude from the entirety of my heart. Without the grace of God, the love and support of my friends and family, and great doctors, you would have been at my funeral last July. To give an example of the grave nature of where I was last June, I had reached out to who I wanted to be my pallbearers, song choices for the celebration (I don't want a funeral. I haven't lived my life somber, but with a zeal for it) and thinking about it. Thankfully, I'm recovering and look to make a full recovery without a transplant. Please join us and let's help others who are in a similar situation. It's much more common than you think, and could benefit you one day. 10
