When walking on the street please stay as close to the curb as possible. • Cyclists - please wear reflective gear - clothing, helmets, wrist bands, etc. Also please ensure reflector lights and headlamps on your bicycle are working. Usually the 4th Monday of each month at 7:30 PM (we sometimes move the date because of holidays, so check with celeste.fritz@gmail. com ) Don’t forget about LOE’s Little Free Library located at the bus stop in front of the clubhouse! Take a book / leave a book. December’s book sounded perfect for the holidays, with all of the special meals. December 27 – Tender at the Bone by Ruth Reichl At an early age, Ruth Reichl discovered that “food could be a way of making sense of the world. If you watched people as they ate, you could find out who they were.” Her deliciously crafted memoir Tender at the Bone is the story of a life defined, determined, and enhanced in equal measure by a passion for food, by unforgettable people, and by the love of tales well told. Beginning with her mother, the notorious food-poisoner known as the Queen of Mold, Reichl introduces us to the fascinating characters who shaped her world and tastes, from the gourmand Monsieur du Croix, who served Reichl her first foie gras, to those at her politically correct table in Berkeley who championed the organic food revolution in the 1970s. Spiced with Reichl’s infectious humor and sprinkled with her favorite recipes, Tender at the Bone is a witty and compelling chronicle of a culinary sensualist’s coming-of-age. When the stress of the holidays gets to you, why not curl up with a good book?

Lakes on Eldridge
Great weather and our beautiful clubhouse patio were the backdrop for our 17th annual Oktoberfest. The social team transformed the clubhouse into a Houston-style biergarten for neighbors and friends to gather, eat, dance, and taste beer from local breweries. Thanks to John Jondle, Edgar Perez, and Kevin Cooke for securing the donations of beer. Also, a big thank you to all the neighbors who came out early to set up and help serve the beer: Francesca della Chiesa, Debi & Wayne Gann, Kerry Linkin, Kirby Loid, Kurt Swinnen, Gaynor Richardson, and Sue Strebel. Special thanks to Shel Saripella for organizing the amazing food trucks and DJ Yuri for keeping the tunes spinning for our dancing pleasure. We’re so happy to have everyone’s support. ~Veerle & Carrie

Last year’s reserve study showed significant medium- and long-term costs for infrastructure repairs on brick walls, roads and sidewalks. In order to prepare for these future costs, additional funds are being allocated to the reserve fund. The status of the situation with the MUD was summarized and the Board is hoping the MUD 341 will come current on its outstanding invoices of $163, 076 so the projected payment into the reserves can be made rather than having to cover operating costs. The 2022 assessment is $1,670. The 2021 assessment collection rate is at 99%. The Board wishes to thank everyone who pays their assessments on time so the Board can continue to maintain the high standard our community enjoys and make our residents proud to live in Lakes on Eldridge. Halloween Party a Success! Lakes on Eldridge
Adults and children alike dressed up for the Halloween party which included a bouncy house and fun at the Auburn Shores playground.
• Completed restoration of 42 brick wall panels along the pipeline corridor near the Auburn Shores Playground. Expecting these panels will be good for another 20 years. Planning to implement one or two similar scope projects each year for the next several years until all of our damaged

or deteriorating panels are repaired. Overall the brick walls are in very good shape and with regular inspection and maintenance they will be good for years to come. • Approved funds for replacement and upgrade for the Waterside Way waterfall pump located on Lake E. The installation should be completed by the end of November. • Refinished the clubhouse front door which was beginning to look very worn. • Upgraded the clubhouse internet and WiFi capabilities to improve connectivity. A new QR code access system has been added. It’s possible now to connect to the clubhouse WiFi/internet by simply scanning this code on your cell phone. A password will no longer be needed and this new network will be available to all guests as well. This QR code will be posted in several locations in and around the clubhouse. • Removed one large oak tree on Auburn Shores which had a bad fungus. Other trees in the area were inspected and none of them had this fungus, so we are hopeful this is a one-off incident. • Approved a project to relocate and upgrade 3 control loops at the Eldridge Resident and Visitor gates. These control loops (which are buried in the concrete pavement) should be installed by the end of November and eliminate the problems we’ve had recently with these gates starting to close while large and/or tall vehicles are attempting to pass through. • Installed one new test umbrella for the Clubhouse pool area. Our existing umbrellas are antiquated, in need of repairs, and very difficult to raise/lower. • Made arrangements for four front windows of the Clubhouse Main Room to be replaced since they are fogging-up badly. This work should be done by end November.
