Submitted by Amy Broussard On September 15, Cypress-based charity Long Way Home hosted the “Shuffle Up and Heal Poker” Tournament at Doghouse Poker Club. The event drew over 100 poker players and monies raised benefitted the Children's Transplant Initiative. The Children's Transplant Initiative (CTI) maintains six apartments where families can live together near the Texas Medical Center while awaiting pediatric organ transplant surgery. They also offer spiritual, emotional, and financial support to families as they start the transplant process, from the time of diagnosis through their child’s 18th birthday. Long Way Home is proud to present a donation of $20,000 to CTI as they continue to help local families.
