Instrumentation: Violin (scordatura: F-D-A-E) Viola (scordatura: B-D-A-E)

Notes: Tuning based on A-440: Violin: F, ~176 Hz, just minor-third (6/5) with D D, 293.3 Hz A, 440 Hz E, 660 Hz Cello: B, 62 Hz, perfect 4th with violin E G, 97.8 Hz D, 146.67 Hz A 220 Hz To tune correctly, follow these steps: 1. Tune violin and cello to A-440 2. Violin tunes E and D strings with perfect fifths 3. Cello tunes D and G strings with perfect fifths 4. Violin plays B on A string (1st position) a perfect fourth from the open E string. Cello tunes the low B string to this violin B. 5. Violin tunes F a just minor-third with its D string.
