Pegasus Agriculture is Currently Planning Hydroponic Projects

Pegasus Agriculture is currently planning hydroponic projects and hydroponic farming facilities and manufacturing all over the Middle East, Dubai and North African region (MENA), including Oman, Qatar, Tunisia, Iraq, Afghanistan, UAE, Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Many of these countries suffer from a lack of arable land and climates that are unsuitable for the mass production of food.

This means up to now, food self-sufficiency has been unrealistic and these countries are forced to import the vast majority of their crops.

Our hydroponics projects are changing all this, and within a few short years, we are planning to become the region’s largest distributor of organic locally produced food, which will see us approach our goals of seeing food selfsufficiency in the wider MENA region. Our existing projects include operations with our partners Gardinia Hydroponic Farming (GHF), such as the one located in Barka at a farm site at Al Oqayr. This farm has been in operation since 2011, and produces high quality produce thanks to the utilization of the very latest hydroponic and water saving techniques, along with European technology and management systems. A further network of 300 acres of hydroponic greenhouses is also planned in the MENA region, which could enable countries in this area to become selfsufficient food providers. This will enable these countries to save money, and enable their authorities to concentrate on wider social issues such as health care and education.

130 hectares of land for development We currently have 130 hectares of land ready for development. This land is not suitable for current agriculture due to either the climate or quality of the soil. However, the beauty of our hydroponic systems is that almost any land can be turned into the viable crop growing areas. Our controlled hydroponic environments means that crops are not vulnerable to weather systems and other climatic problems that can damage and destroy food plants grown using traditional methods. The land we have ready for development is leased under highly secure agreements, lasting 100 years. This ensures a permanency to our developments and provides a lasting investment that will yield both investment returns and high levels of food crops. We lease from a wide variety of people and organizations, from local authorities and municipal governments to private landowners, and these leases permit us to construct, operate and distribute in these areas. In addition, the leased land has access to enough water to ensure the smooth operation of our hydroponic facilities, as well as having road access to enable easy distribution.

Infrastructure budget While growing crops in a hydroponic environment is less labor intensive and cheaper than conventional farming methods, the infrastructure does require an initial investment to get up and running.

Fortunately, thanks to our wide portfolio of investors we have a huge infrastructure budget, meaning we always have the necessary funding to begin and finish a project, ensuring our investors, farmers, distributors and corporate buyers aren’t exposed to any risk due to lack of funds. While there is an initial infrastructure cost, the high yields of hydroponic farming means that returns on investment are made quickly; compared to the same sized area of land, a hydroponic farm can produce 1000% more produce than traditional agriculture. Once a farm is up and running, our controlled environments are completely automated, so running and labor costs are low. This ensures that all hydroponic farms always make returns. In addition, our farming facilities are not vulnerable to climate, disease and pests, which can often ruin conventional crops and diminish returns.

Global distribution network Our global distribution network means investors do not even have to find their own channels in which to sell their produce. As soon as yields are ready, our distribution channels ensure you get the best price for your crops locally. In addition, this ensures that the produce that comes from your plot goes into helping GCC and MENA countries to achieve food security. You retain full control over the land and its titles. If you wish to operate and manage your own farm and distribute your own produce, we can assist and support you thanks to our vast experience, or you can choose to let us manage, harvest and distribute your produce for you. This makes any investment in hydroponic agriculture simple and easy. About the company Pegasus Agriculture, headquartered in Dubai is the largest owner and operator of hydroponic farming facilities in the Middle East and Northern Africa(MENA). Pegasus Agriculture continues to lead the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) in technologically advanced farming techniques and clean and ethical farming practices that produce fresh, healthy fruits and vegetables.
